Marijuana legal in California

This is at least a step forward. Who knows maybe weed will be legal everywhere in a few years.

you can buy an individual plant at a store..

I believe you can have 4 mature and 4 immature at one given time.

I'm sure he means it's not really possible because plants are bound to grow more than one ounce - possibly up to 5 or more.

If you're caught in the UK with bud for the first few times they give you a warning lol, doesn't even go on your record.

Not sure why they don't just decriminalise it, that's pretty much how the 5-0 treat it anyway.

You guys that think "it's pretty much legal here" aren't really accurate. Take it from someone with a serious illness that still had to go through year + of legal hassles costing 15k in legal fees between 2 lawyers and having to pay my doctor to come to court twice because the first time the case got bumped for the day from a scheduling error the court had made.

The entire fiasco would have probably gone on with even more hassles if the stress of it all didn't aggregate my condition enough to rupture my colon and send me to the hospital for 3 weeks. The DA finally just settled and gave up on their accusation, oh how did the cop put it the night he arrested me and held me 12 hours without my medication (prescription not marijuana) "Shut your mouth you pathetic faking stoner"

It's kind of like racism. Many people think it's not a problem anymore which makes it even more of a problem in some areas.

Marijuana is still VERY much a legal issue in many places in California.

Untill the fed steps in.

DEA has already announced over a year ago they're not going to waste any efforts pot, and will concentrate their efforts on stuff like meth, crack, etc. Pot is still illegal under federal law, but will not be actively pursued by federal agents.

Course even if they do legalize pot, I wonder how many folks will be amazed to learn they can still get arrested for driving under the influence. :P

seconded.
i was in north oceanside with less than 2 grams, and somehow even though my paperwork checked out, i'm still going to court in 2 weeks. upfront lawyer fees were $1500 and that's assuming they don't try to take me to trial. my lawyer called the DA eight times in the last month, basically leaving messages saying "this kid is legal, don't pursue the case" but for some reason (and my lawyer tells me this wouldn't have happened in ANY OTHER CITY in the county) they're going to try to pursue the case anyway, because -- and i quote the arresting officer -- "you and i both know this is still a grey area".

basically if they can't jail you, they're gona drag you thru court just to waste your time and money.

It sounds like the problem is more with douche bag cops and not feds or court. I seriously think cops need to go though some real psych evaluation at least once year. I have never met a cop who was mentally sound.

To most of them, every drug user must be the same. And since most still believe that pot is a "gateway drug" they probably figure you're on meth or crack or something too.
