Massive blackout hits California, Arizona and Mexico

THAT WAS SOME BULLSHIT
QFT

Yeah, no way should something this massive have happened.
roads were a clusterfuck last night.
Was listening to the one radio station with a generator last night and even Rosarito Mexico had their power restored before we did. WTF?

I don't know how many people read the entire story but it was an employee of the ARIZONA ELECTRIC COMPANY that caused the outage so to Yuckystuff...

And why would some silly fuckup in arizona effect you guys? Ohh yeah! The state government in California was stupid enough to block any attempt made at generating power in cali for the last 40 years or so.

We had a great time, no cule what you guys are all complaining about. We took 20 of our employees to a bar across the street and they kept serving in the complete dark just with candles. It was PACKED all night. Then we had a big black-out party at our pad till 1am and made hot-pot by candle light.

I was hoping power wouldn't be restored until Monday, would have been a GREAT time.

It was bad timing for me. Very time sensitive client work due.

First I called my roommate, assuming she didn't pay the bill.

Then I went to get food, to realize power was out everywhere, I had no cash on me and no one was taking cards.

Then I hopped on my phone to see if it was just like, Pacific Beach or what, and service was out... Finally asked a guy WTF and he told me it was a terrorist attack that blew up the power plants.

Since I had no way to check news and no one new WTF was happening, I believed it for a few hours.

Went home. BBQ'd and drank with neighbors, 90% of which are ridiculously hot chicks, several months in to living here I'm still shocked at the insane amount of hot girls here.

Quotable quotes...

Let's play dark twister!

I have an oral fixation.

What else are we supposed to do, the electricity is out.

I ended up having a blast.

Being stuck in traffic would have sucked.

Lasting longer than it did would have really sucked. It was cool for a night though, could see the stars for a change.

Surprisingly, no looting or widespread crime.

First I was like

Then I was like

Then I bought a generator.

I'm glad Texas has it's own power grid, sharing your power infrastructure with other states is for peasants.

Yeah who gives a fuck if it's 100+ degrees for 60+ days in a row ... let's all move from SD to Texas so we don't have to deal with minor power outages once a summer when it's 75 degrees every day.

Oh god, and I'm moving to California in the next couple of months!

Well...I guess it could be worse. Governments are basically messed up everywhere you go. At least California has beaches.
