This is a cause I can get behind.

From the article:

After Comedy Central cut a portion of a South Park episode following a death threat from a radical Muslim group, Seattle cartoonist Molly Norris wanted to counter the fear. She has declared May 20th "Everybody Draw Mohammed Day."

"As a cartoonist I just felt so much passion about what had happened I wanted to kind of counter Comedy Central's message they sent about feeling afraid," Norris said.

Norris has asked other artists to submit drawings of any religious figure to be posted as part of Citizens Against Citizens Against Humor (CACAH) on May 20th.

On her website Norris explains this is not meant to disrespect any religion, but rather meant to protect people's right to express themselves.

So, please. Do what you can on May 20th. Support Citizens Against Citizens Against Humor (CACAH) and make fun of a major religion by using the power of the pen. Obviously Islam seems to be the most anti-humor religion out there, but really, any of the major religions will do.
 


Just out of curiosity...since from what I understand, there is no image of Mohammed, similar as there is no image of God.

So how are we going to draw something that has no image?

Like tell us to draw jesus? OK...But how do we draw something that no one knows what it looks like?

a label will do just fine. this way, you can draw a piece of shit with a headband labeled Allah and your message will come across just fine.

There's no pictures of Muhammad, but there's old portraits and the like. Not all Muslim groups prohibit his depiction... there's actually one on his Wikipedia entry.
 
Draw a stick figure with a beard. Give him a turban. Give him a bomb. Give him a t-shirt that says "I went to Mecca and blew some shit up and all I got was this lousy T-shirt!"

Grab up one of those and upload a simple script that lets people draw funny sketches and pick crazy items from a list and repost them.

Announce the site to 4Chan, Digg, Reddit, etc. Don't forget the Facebook groups/pages as well.
