So apparently Mediatrust is dropping all their third-party campaigns tomorrow? I just received this email:

I want to let you know that effective close of business September 22nd, MediaTrust will no longer be running third party campaigns of any kind. We'll only be running owned and operated CPC and CPA campaigns. So we will continue running Identity Edge, which is our own, but all other third-party CPA campaigns will be shut off at that time.

I knew they were downsizing and eliminating their Canadian offices, but was unaware that they were dropping offers. Anyone know the details? Kinda bummed, gotta find new offers now.

so what is that you'd say you do here, MediaTrust?

Guys -

To elaborate a bit on the news from zach606...

The experiences that we've encountered while working with advertisers, coupled with the tremendous success that we've realized with our own products, such as Identity Edge, as well CPC categories, have led us to the conclusion that we can not only be a more successful and profitable company with our new strategy, but also deliver better value and opportunities to YOU, our loyal affiliates. Promoting products that we have full control over allows us to offer you less restrictions, better tailored creatives, and a whole lot more that we couldn't before. CPC campaigns in particular allow the affiliate to widen their scope from promoting one single product, to promoting the entire category. For those of you unfamiliar with the CPC model who are interested in finding out more, feel free hit me up at jkravitz at mediatrust dot com, and I'll be happy to run through it with you.

One thing about MediaTrust has not, and will not change - we'll still do everything in our power to keep our affiliates happy.

there is too much noise, crap and too much of the same old same old across too many CPA networks. The industry is getting commoditized & over saturated. So is the consumer. we dont want to be in the business of shrinking margins and running the same offers as everyone else with little difference in value proposition to our partners. i am sure on the aff side you get tired of being bombarded by the same crap from networks. at affiliate summit i spoke to a few pub partners and they said they do biz primarily based on the relationship because they can get the same offers from other networks. we dont want to be like everyone else...

we have always focused on being ahead of the curve and the boiler room mentality " hey i gotta great offer for you".

The best way to be a better partner is to take a less is more approach. we will grow our CPA offers with ones we own or completely control. he who owns and controls the brand controls the market. this is how we can be a better partner to our affiliate peeps and offer more ROI. The cpc layer is migrating this week off Direct Track and onto the MT platform. Everything is on private for now until the migration is complete, and then you will start seeing the new offers as well as new tools we are adding to the platform.

If you need help or have any questions please reach out to Jordan or i 24/7

how do i say that in 140 characters or 20 words?

Im still here Jon! you guys can always get me if you have any questions. bmurphy at mediatrust.com.

Focusing on your own offers I suppose is one way to be able to offer more value to your affiliates...but it's also a way to create a monopoly and imprison them à la EPN. Maybe that's why you guys were featured on their blog recently!

Bardon (Evan) never paid me for low $xxx when I tested with them...not a big deal but wouldn't work with them
You and I were one of the hundreds of affiliates they screwed. I did a lot of volume with them. Oh well, you live and learn I guess, but I consider MediaTrust a joke because of it.

i completely hear you on that one ! and for the record will never happen at MT and as long as i am CEO. you are our partners and our culture is built around our partners coming first.. The better our partners do the better we do" the industry has had to much " all for me and more for me" and needs more "all for one and one for all". i really appreciate you making that point because it a very valid and important one.To many people take advantage of their affiliates...
