I got a ticket to Michael Penland's 'internet marketing super conference' Dec. 11-13 in Orlando FL. It was free from a guru's list I am on (Ross Goldberg). Anyone been to one of his events? Is it helpful or a pitch-fest? The ticket was free so I think I'll be pitched! I do not know him. Thanks for any feedback.

dude have a look at his website www.daretogrowrich.com I would go to that conference for a laugh at most if i had absolutely nothing else to do.

The conference will start off all exciting he will tell you how much money hes made, he will tell you how easy it is, then he will start a slow pitch into his extra special limited time only VIP money making group where you can sign up for a couple of hundred dollars. Then if you make it to that exclusive im gonna talk about how im gonna be a millionaire group he will then pitch to you an even more exclusive deal he has to the limited time only VIP multi millionaire group which would be a couple of thousands.

Save your time and money. Spend it on testing campaigns.

By the looks of the testimonials on his page, I think you might not fit in if you're not white trash.... but then again, you're never going to become a "Super Money Magnet" if you don't go!

If you want to know what one of those conferences is like, get a bunch of 1-2 yr-olds together for Christmas and watch them open presents; it doesn't matter what the fuck you put in the box, they are gonna play with the wrapping paper for several hours until they shit themselves and fall asleep.

haha so true

Whilst you're a complete fucking moron if you go to one of those conferences... you're also going to be fabulously well off for very little work if you run one.

I do events on the side (doing an NYE party this year, looking to make $15k in profits so far, taken me a total of 22hrs to arrange so far), and the expenses for something like this are pretty minimal.

$2000 for a nice venue. $5000 if you want it scream "I'm rich, bitches, and you will be this rich too if you listen to me *cough*", and for the venue to provide the furniture.
$1500 for 500 seats and a few tables.
$2000 for catering (you'd want to cater something like this).
Maybe $2,500 for advertising if you don't have some whores doing it for you.
Oh, and enough CDs to sell to everyone, just to make it look like an unlimited supply, for $500.

So we're talking a $6,000 to $10,000 outlay... For what?

If your event is free, and you're a decent pitch, you'll get a 10% conversion rate for your ultra VIP course, and probably 20% for your merch.

100 people are going to buy your crappy CD, and 50 will sign up to your crappy course.
CD for $30 ($3,000)
Course for $300. ($15,000)
Of the people that sign up for your crappy course, you'll probably get a further 10% that don't realise they're fucking morons, and that you're not really teaching them shit, and they'll pay another $2,000 for your super ninja samurai warrior detective killer course. So another 5 people shell out ($10,000)

So we're looking at a $28,000 gross ($19,000-$22,000 nett) for what amounts to maybe a week worth of full time work, and it's a hell of a lot less stressful than having to pick the right products and keep an eye on campaigns...
... and you can do this from town to town if they're a reasonable size for a whole year before this shit begins to catch up with you.

If I had the morality of a funnel web spider and didn't have issues with crowds, I'd be all over this one.
