Hey, just wondering if anyone has any experience with creating a fan page on facebook solely to push cpa offers. I always see fan pages called "i love pillows" and shit like that. Thinking about starting something up myself, so if anyone has any tips it would be greatly appreciated.

You may have a tough time with certain CPA offers; also do note that if you have over a certain amount of friends, most fan page updates are hidden from the newsfeed.

I recently started a fanpage for a site I run. Here are some tips:

  • If people have over 250 friends your fanpage updates wont show up

  • When posting stories: spread them out over the day and post the more important ones in the evening. I noticed that when you post a couple of stories in bulk, that the last one gets the normal amount of impressions and the previous ones a lot less. (I currently have +-13000 fans and each story gets around 55000 impressions)
  • Getting fans through fb ads is supereasy. It cost me about $0.19/new fan. TIP: target users who are not already a fun but who do have friends that are a fan for an easy CTR increase.
  • Use the static FBML app. You can put this in a box or in the wall and you can add custom html to it. (aff links :) )
  • If you're a programmer create a facebook app to auto post to your fanpage. Doing this you can add custom action links to your posts (where the "like", "share" links are) that link directly to your site. It took my about half a day to make the app and it is about 10 lines of code. Most time was spent figuring out how to do it and getting the permissions for the app right

I'm watching the "Get $250 in FREE Groceries!" group show up on my wall every half hour or so for days. 380,000+ fans so far. Even at an abysmal conversion rate that would be bank. Fucking astonishing that that many people are that gullible, with those kinds of offers having been out for so long. Almost embarrassing that so many of them are friends of mine.

facebook doesnt really like free email/zip submit offers it seems like. does anyone have any suggestions on what to push with a fan page?

Well I saw a group yesterday called "first 100,000 members gets an Ipad" or something like that. I joined out of curiosity so that I could copy what they were doing. Once I got to the portion that would take me to the offer I got a message that said "the offer is no longer available due to abuse being reported by other members" So apparently you can try but after a while you will be reported and that may result in a ban

When you say stories are you just referring to sending a message to all of the fans? also I can't figure out how to post the fbml app on the wall of my page. Please explain these two points to me, I'm slow. Thanks!:crap:

By story I mean post a message on the fanpage.
By default the fbml app shows up as a tab but you can change it to a box in the application settings of the app. (click "edit page" => "FBML" ==> "application settings")

(sorry if anything was unclear ... non native speaker over here :) )
