More Gun Control....

I'm sure the batman guy ordered his ammo online before going on his killing spree. How would these guys even have time to draft a bill like this so quickly? It's to bad nobody cares and The dems will surly fill the busses on election day

Just making it more difficult for law-abiding citizens. This doesn't slow down criminals at all.

When will someone who's not borderline retarded run for congress?

It requires licensed ammunition dealers to report the sale of more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition to an unlicensed person within any five consecutive business days.

You know here in Vegas they have slot machines that will pay out a jackpot of $1,199 because anything over $1,200 has to be reported to the IRS. Look out for the 999 round sales.

The fallacy is the belief that the legislation was written in response to a tragic event. In reality, the tragic event provides cover.

Think of it this way: if you were the ruler, wouldn't you want to remove deadly weapons from the hands of the peasants? And if you can get a few stupid peasants to argue that it's for everyone's own good - because one peasant started offing other peasants - all the better.

As Rahm Emanuel has said...

You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it's an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.

In Mexico, where they have really strict guns laws, I hear it's working out great.

Agreed with Benji... The fact of the matter is, the enemy will ALWAYS get the guns. Making these fucked off laws just pisses off the more legit people (such as myself) in obtaining them. Can I get illegal guns? Sure I can... but I'd prefer to keep it legal. The bad guys will always have access to the shit they want, similar to Benji's point.

Did you guys read about the Colorado man that went to a movie theater nearby with a loaded firearm on his hip and was arrested? I mean the guy had a fucking CCW! That being said, he was allowed to have a loaded firearm on him (and hell I would too seeing the hype involved in what happened).

Something else to take into consideration, is that the dude who shotup the theater might not have done so if there was a possibility of everyone else being armed....

^^ Dude, the politicians know all this shit, better yet, the people who control the politicians know all this shit. It's funny that people still actually think that these laws are passed with even the slightest concern for what's best for the nation or it's citizens. Or even that the politicians themselves even believe it's what's in the best interest for everyone. It's about an agenda. It's about control. Simple as that. No different than peasants not being allowed to have weapons back in the day. We are an occupied nation via Israel and the Fed. Zionism is no fucking joke. There is no notion in Zionist beliefs of there being enough for everyone. They wish to dominate. Believe what you want. Everything can be substantiated if you look hard enough.

Inb4 conspiracy theorist hurrr durrr

It's about murder rate per capita , not total deaths.

Granted, Mexico has a phenomenally high murder rate , 18 per 100k. Colorado's is 2.4 per 100k , or 7.5 times safer than Mexico.

Interestingly enough, my county, where 10% to 15% of people have CCW permits has a 0.6 murder rate per 100k. That's less than any country in Europe!

Crime rates all over the US vary by wide margins, from 0.5 (North Dakota) to 11.6 (Louisiana). You can have wide variations in states too, Detroit has an abysmal rate and Ann Arbor is next to nothing.

Exactly. Criminals don't buy guns or ammunition from legit stores (at least the smart ones don't), they get it from other criminals on the black market where you don't have to deal with paper trails.

I loved this:

The new legislation, dubbed the Stop Online Ammunition Sales Act, rests on four pillars, according to Lautenberg's office:

  • It requires anyone selling ammunition to be a licensed dealer.
  • It requires ammunition buyers who are not licensed dealers to present photo identification at the time of purchase, effectively banning the online or mail order purchase of ammo by regular civilians.
  • It requires licensed ammunition dealers to maintain records of the sale of ammunition.
  • It requires licensed ammunition dealers to report the sale of more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition to an unlicensed person within any five consecutive business days
First, how are you suppose to get rid of the ammunition for your own guns that you don't need anymore? If a guy buys a rifle off me, what am I suppose to do with the ammunition? I predict "gifting" of ammunition and the subsequent "gift" of payment will become common, eventually becoming a new era of prohibition as alcohol use to be.

Second, the retards writing this Act are killing an entire US industry, since you will now have to buy and sell locally. There goes online stores for those mom and pop gun shops that use to make up a large percentage of their income through them, but won't be able to function nearly as well due to inventory costs and loss of customer base.

Third, privacy rights are being violated all over this. I predict a huge database and cataloging system from this so that now when a crime is committed, they'll track a shell casing used to anyone who purchased a similar batch to question you. So, unless the manufacturers insert some kind of dye/scanning system into each bullet, lots of people could falsely get under police speculation and subsequently arrested for other things even after they've been left off the suspect pool for the shell casing.
