So MountainDew wanted anyone to 'dub' their new granny apple mountain dew on their site, Dub the Dew | There

The grand prize is a skateboard I think (lol)

Some lame names that made it to the top at one point were Tempest, Green Machine

but then...

The results took a crazy turn. I'll let you go look for yourself, check out the gallery of names to see the top 10.

Also, if MountainDew found the #1 name to be offensive or they didn't approve then their 'judges' could pick another name from the top 10 and well, that is pretty much taken cared of by other lovely names.

You can also see the other close contenders, my personal favorites are 'Soda' and 'Coke' but I'm hoping 'Fapple' can pull through.

Seriously hilarious. Wrong in 18 different ways, but hilarious in Mnt Dews bumbling handling of the whole PR situation.

First they get "Hitler did nothing wrong" as the top pick for their new drink with "Diabeetus", "Fapple" and "coke" rounding out the top 10.

Things couldn't really get worse as the PR team is wetting their pants hitting refresh every two minutes, praying for a shakeup in the top 10.

But they do. They get hacked with a message saying "Mtn Dew salutes Israeli Mossad for demolishing 3 towers on 9/11"

They probably panic so hard that they just slamming the delete button until we are left with this:

"Warning: require(/home/content/28/8533528/html/wp-includes/load.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/28/8533528/html/wp-settings.php on line 21

Folks, this is textbook on how to screw up a PR ploy beyond all human recognition. No matter how bad you think you've screwed up, you can never screw up this bad. Gives new self confidence to move ahead in the trench warfare of internet marketing.
