Does it take you guys like forever long to start a new campaign? Just signed up today and it's taking for...ev....er.... to place my order.

"Once upon a time MSN adcenter had people reviewing keyword lists, but now the automated version is good. They're reject a third of your keywords, so just resubmit those, and it'll reject a third of those. Yahoo is much the same way." -Kris Ceo of Pepperjamsearch.com

It felt good to know that shit like this affects the big players too.

I had to call Adcenter support twice this week, and to my surprise, they were VERY knowledgeable and very helpful. I had a few ads that had some problems, so they were rejected. Not only did the guy help explain why they were rejected, but he fixed the problem on all of my ads, not just the one we were reviewing.

I would definitely give them a call if you can't get your campaign up and running.

The traffic I was buying was so low in volume. Yahoo/Google were both 5-10x higher for the same keywords. MSN is super picky with relevancy also. Drives me crazy and a half.

They have awsome support, but it would be even awesomer if they would stop rejecting hundreds of my keywords everyday

What are they saying is wrong with your keywords? Are you using the {keyword} Dynamic Text? If so, this could easily be what the problem is, if the keyword is too long, it will make certain parts of the ad too long. For Example, if you use {keyword} for your title, but your keyword phrase has over 25 characters, it will cause the keyword to be rejected for the ad, because it makes the title too long.

I have one adCenter campaign where MSN went through and rejected all my plurals...

widget = good
widgets = rejected

Didn't do it in any other. Weird

note to self: don't bother with adcenter. While I have heard shoe and others give props to their team, it just sounds like too much of a hastle and not a good enough ROI in terms of time and effort spent, let alone money.

There is a learning curve to adcenter and one that is worth it if you can make it through the learning part.

What's great is I've been credited $100 from "invalid" clicks in the last day. :)

YSM is a pain in the ass, Adwords isn't perfect either. It is worth the time and effort. MSN has the best conversion rates. Profit is profit, and it all adds up. You shouldn't cut any of the big 3 out of your advertising campaigns or you'll miss a piece of the pie.

just think, if its a pain in the ass for everyone else, it just means less competition and more money for people that are willing to deal with the hassle

hmmmm. i guess i might want to reconsider. i never really thought about the fact that a poor and slow interface would cut back on competition.

Just a heads up to other noobs out there. I spend a few $ sending traffic to a dead page today. Turns out you can't use the http:// when setting your url. They already put it on for you and you end up with http://http://, which of course does not work. Glad I caught it early.

I thought I'd tag on to an old thread rather than start another adcenter post.

Yeah...they auto fill that with your display url when you tab down.

Dunno but I've always check the urls I put in my ads right after I type it in...I've done that everywhere. :)
