So, unsurprisingly, I was stopped again at Edinburgh Airport for extra screening this morning (I don't think they like me).

I told the stormtrooper or whatever his title is how much it had failed last time (15 attempts - government efficiency in action), but he assured me that a new scanner was arriving soon (which sure helps right now).

He didn't actually know of the scanners ever actually finding anything, but he "believed" - I suppose that's good enough.

After only 2 attempts this time, he wanted to profile me "for a survey".

First it was ethnicity - British resident is all you need to know.
Then religion - has nothing been learned from history? None of your business - this shocked him.

I'm so glad I pay for these people to harass me.

As far as I am aware, no. I would likely be asked to leave the airport and not fly. This was a "secondary" screening, after a simple metal detector, which I have no problem with (there is no requirement to have my arms in the surrender position etc).

I'm aware of opting out of the scanners in America, and I always do when I visit.
 
The pat down they give in the US is quite a groping. I've only been scanned in Russia by their HomoScanner. That's the real name. I tried to take a pic but a female policewoman made me erase the pic.
 
Disgusting, truly disgusting, the way we're slowly allowing every day intrusion into our privacy.

I always opt out of scanners and such and generally try to wear some intimidating clothes so the security people don't try to pull any such nonsense.
 
Perhaps a dildo in your luggage with some chocolate pudding on the end might grant you a little more alpha in this situation.

As much as we all hate TSA, it always ends up being more fucked up in Europe. gg Fagots.

dont get it..so you're saying they stopped you because you were british and had no religion? what's your DNA make up?
