Hey guys -

Thanks for all the PM's and IM's and Emails about my blog.

I have decided to close the blog for the time being. It was a huge time sink for which I did not receive any value in return.

The original intent of the blog was to be a place for me to record thoughts etc. I never expected to get any readership (thanks Andrew and others for links and nice compliments) nor did I expect people to care enough to tell me that it was not working.

The truth is that the weeks I blogged, I was rewarded with more traffic, which incentivized me to blog more. The problem with that was it was at a cost of both my partnerships business as well as my own personal projects. The weeks when I did not blog, I realized that my contributions to my income were far greater. Not having to worry about blogging is much more profitable!

So while I enjoy sharing my thoughts and what I have learned online, I was not really helping myself at all. Greedy I know....but I have been called worse.

So rather than blogging, I intend to start those new verticals I have been promising myself. My goal is one new successful vertical every other month, with a very aggressive profit per month goal by the end of the year.

So far this year, I have one nice double off the wall in the bank, and one 0-2 count against Randy Johnson(but the bases are loaded in this vertical), with a few in the on deck circle waiting to get their cuts...

Thanks again for the nice words and heads up about the blog being down. Just wanted to let everyone know why it was no longer there.

it will be missed. your blog was on my very short list of blogs i read and was def. something special.

good luck with your other ventures..

Very well said. Good luck with your other projects. I can relate to the time you lost blogging. I concentrated so much on blogging, I neglected my other writing projects for which I was paid. Now my WordPress site is used strictly to promote my books rather than blogging - simply because it's sooo easy to change the design :)

This is why I do not understand why everyone including Andrew Wee suggest posting to your blog once or twice daily.

aojon.com is doing JUST FINE with weekly posts.

I guess to get started, go ahead and get lots of rehashed content and a couple articles written by you. Queue up daily posts for a month then BACK OFF and get back to your other business. Remind yourself weekly to find something to post about and then get back to work.

Blogging can be a win/lose battle depending on how caught up you are. So WHAT you might have a growing readership, aojon is growing yet he doesn't post daily....

I think it isn't too smart to spend that much time on a blog then drop it either. You should just make a post saying you have other projects and will be posting on a limited basis. Your blog will still grow from the content.

I have no idea what this blog was. But if it is online still, can you send me a link? I'd like to read it.

Great Point why stop the blog when you still have traffic from the content you have already...If its up also i like the link also..

Oh shit, I hope my recent post have anything to do with this! May be I need to back away from the negative stuff :D

4/01/07. April fools.

Actually this had nothing to do with April 1st. Just had gotten quite a few people telling me my blog was down and wanted to explain that it was intentional and my reasons why.

Not one to bump my own stuff, but I think this got lost in the flurry of April Fools Posts. I got 4 more emails, 2 IM's and a PM yesterday about my blog being down....
