It was pretty sad when i happened, but now that she's ok its funny.

Broke both her front legs and thats it.

Had a dog who was killed by a car a few years ago -- Very sad. Funny how we get so attached. Good she's okay.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck, I thought your dog had been killed by the way you worded this thread! Cute dog.

I thought that as well by the way the title was worded but I'm glad I was wrong and I like the story much better now.

I laughed at your dog looking like she is grinning. And then I saw her name..

Time my wife and I got a dog of our own.

Yes, it easy to get attached to them. The unconditional love and all they want in exchange is to be feed.

..then the occasional shots and picking up there poo is the downside, but totally worth it!

I'm glad your dog survived and will recover from the 2 broken legs.

I would say she won. A 60 lb dog against a one ton vehicle?

Agreed. Very good that she's okay, though.

Is the vet optimistic on her legs healing up properly? Our collie broke her leg several years ago and it was a major pain to keep her from screwing with the cast; for the first week someone always had to be there with her.

shes doing pretty good. Got smaller casts yesterday.
She had 2 metal plates put in each leg.

I had to put that picture up. She looks funny with 2 neon orange casts and plastic bags on her feet.

That's good. A dog with a cast is simultaneously sad and hilarious, so. ;)

We couldn't do metal plates for some reason, like where the break was. I dunno, it's been years since that happened. But because of that she had to get the biggest dog-cast I've ever seen. It was like a tree trunk.

When my dog got hit by a diesel truck many years ago, she had a cast on her back leg for 6 weeks. We lived upstairs, so we had to carry her up and down the stairs the entire time. Each time we did this routine several times a day, we'd rubberband a plastic bag to the cast to make sure it stayed clean and dry.

It would be tough if it was 2 legs. I really feel for you!
