The fucker knew exactly where I stashed my cash, and that's all that was taken. Came in from the backyard, via an unlocked window when we weren't home. I live in a pretty nice neighborhood, so I am guessing its not some random burglar taking a chance or a neighbor. Thinking its someone we know, that knew that the window should be open, and exactly where the cash in my master bedroom is kept.

So now I am looking for a web based camera monitoring system -
1. that is recordable
2. motion sensor based
3. can handle multiple cameras

Any suggestions on the security camera system?

Dude, how many people have been in your bedroom, and know where you keep your cash?

You don't need a camera. You need to lay a beatdown on one of your homies.

We are suspecting one my wife's cousin that was living with us last year for a couple of months. She is prone to doing shit like that.

This is pretty common these days...I'm thinking most of these burglars are ex-workers of alarm companies...I'm assuming you had an alarm system right?

im assuming you work from home? Or do you have an office as well? Just wondering if all your comps and shit were out in the open to be taken?

Linksys has some webcam-style cameras that will record to your harddrive and can be viewed remotely.

Hell, you can buy a cheap ass $20 webcam and install WebCam XP and it will record straight to your harddrive and is viewable remotely.

I've done both and liked both.

It's always someone you fucking know. I was robbed quite a few times when I was younger and it always turned out to be a "friend" or roommate. It was right after I had $25,000 worth of music equipment stolen that I decided it was time to live alone.

I haven't been robbed since... funny how that works.

As for webcam security systems, there are a million different types out there and they all work. Just hide them really well and get one that you can view from a remote location.

Seriously, it's just another thing that can be taken. You have some fat-ass camera next to yo pc when some burglar comes in, what do expect him to do?
a) Go hey "that's damn fine" and decide he is overwhelmed by your security system and runs off
b) Steal the webcam and the pc it's attached to

I didn't keep my cash in a safe - assumed it can never happen to me.
Nothing else in the house was touched - I had 2 expensive cellphones, my credit cards and company check books in the same drawer, but just the cash went missing. My home office comps, and all other electronics etc. was left untouched.

I am headed to this spy store in town later to see what they recommend as far as setting up wifi webcams.

Why don't you call that bitch up and say that you had a spy camara in your room that recorded her stealing the cash. If she returns the money... you won't file charges. Scare that dumb bitch to DEATH. Then rinse and repeat on any1 else you suspect.

Record the call in case she, or whomever, compromises herself but doesn't return the cash.

Maybe even record it when/if she returns the cash.

You need this book. Learn how to hide your cash in unconventional places -- say, in a faux pepsei can among with 23 other cans in a case. Rule of thumb is never hide your shit in a master bed room.

Seriously? The smart people hide them well and have more than one and are watching and recording remotely. Think about it.
