There were quite a few of you guys who wanted reviews on looksmart so here is mine.

1) Sign up
2) Campaigns
3) Performance

Signing up for looksmart is relatively easy. Unlike 7search, you don't need to verify CC which is nice. Upon signing up, I setup 66 campaigns at $2 daily limit. These campaigns were direct copies of the ones I had on 7search. My template was pretty good on 7search ranging from 30%-100% CTR. After setting up the campigns I let it run overnight. In the morning I woke up with a $400 charge on my CC :) Apparently they charge 3x your daily limit when you first setup your campaigns. 66 x $2 = $132 daily limit. $132 x 3 = $396. I guess they rounded up and charged me $400(they placed it in my balance). After this I was pretty furious, but then again if they perform then I wouldn't care. Unless you don't have a coupon, I suggest you start SLOW. I've also read on shoemoney's blog that a friend of his got charged $2000+ overnight from looksmart so be careful. If I had set my campaigns to $5 daily limit I would have been charged $990 instead.

Campaigns

Looksmart's adcenter is not the best. It is very slow and very hard to navigate like M$'s adcenter. To this day I still havn't figured out how to delete campaigns/keywords. All I can do is "hide" them which ultimately does the same thing I think. Upon setting up my initial campaigns I was disappointed that not one of my campaigns received any clicks. I later learned that looksmart does not track in real time. It can take anywhere from 30 mins to 1 hour to show any clicks. It also took about 1 day for my campaigns to go live. Looksmart is very slow to make any changes in general. Even if you turn campaigns off you can still get clicks for the next hour or so for that campaign.

Performance

looksmart seemed more professional and more established than 7search at first glance. I immediately thought I would definately get better returns. Boy was I wrong :) Looksmart can push out some good volume on certain mainstream niches, but a lot of my campaigns only got 1 or 2 clicks a day. When looking at my stats it seemed as if looksmart was performing great. 40% average CTR meant good returns(or so I thought). My earnings were at $30, but my money spent was also at $30.... Obviously something is wrong and the problem is not on my side since 30% CTR alone meant I should of had atleast a 1:2 return from my experience with 7search. Upon further research I found that others had problems with looksmart sending out shit/fake traffic. I didn't give up hope and began tweaking for a week. After a week I dropped the sites that were performing the worst. To my amazement, my stats STILL sucked. I was still pushing 1:1 ROI. At this point I realize that to make arbi work with looksmart you need...

1) a really good popular niche
2) 5 or more clicks a day. any less = fake traffic most of the time.
3) luck (you never know which days you will get shit/fake traffic)

At the moment I'm just waiting for my money to drain from looksmart. Looksmart is SHIT so don't use them. Looksmart may be good for certain things but Arbi is not one of them.

This is good to know if its true. I just entered the $150 promo code so at least I have some cash to burn before they BURN me.

Many PPC programs use the same auto-refill system. It shouldn't be a suprise that you got charged. After you you make you initial deposit and get your first click you will be charged your refill amount. If you don't want to be charged that often, just increase you refill amount to like 10x you daily budget. Plus if you feel you got "fake/shit" traffic, document it and ask for a refund on those specific clicks.

my refill amount was at $10. I was only charged a flat $400. i guess there was a possibility that they lumped 40x charges onto 1 bill. dunnoo -_-

i got a $300 free coupon a while back on WF - I wouldn't use them for any but your best campaigns, due to the .10 cent min bid. Even then I would only use them for very targeted KW's. I have found that my sites convert better from them than 7search - but of course it could only be because of the targeted Kw's in high paying campaigns w/ good volume.

I have been lazy lately at arb - all that effort put into 7search for only a couple of months of good performance annoyed the shit out of me. I have been trying to get a PPC auto submit program built for me since that is the part of arb I hate the most - submitting sites and kw's... no luck so far though, at least within my budget.

I bid .06 and was getting charged $2.00 a click. Is this because I didn't do the minimum .10 cent bid or just because they don't know how to code an advertising platform?

you can't have .06 bids. maybe they slapped you with auto bid which puts you at #1.

individual bids overwrite the campaigns max cpc. Don't ask me why.

Thanks for the review mason! With all of the time required to enter campaigns into the PPC networks out there, I don't have the time to waste on shitty networks.

I'm still a n00b at this arbi game but I've been pluggin away at it for a solid two months. I believe the secret to arbi is getting your production processes down tight. The quicker you can create and test campaings for niches, the better. Forget wasting your time loading campaigns into shitty PPC networks, it'll kill your motivation.

You can never generalize that a whole network is shitty. There are shitty niches and campaigns but that doesn't make the whole network crap. I have conversion rates better than Adwords right now coming from Looksmart. Traffic volume is decent too, spending about $100 a day with them.

I'm making a bit of money (like $20/day) with LookSmart arbi now. I converted about 50 of my best 7Search campaigns into LookSmart campaigns, built up the stats while I lost money for about a week, then kept only the 10 or so that were profitable. So LookSmart definitely seems a lot more hit-or-miss than 7Search and the big three networks, but it is possible to be profitable.

Many of you report being charged lots of money, will this show up on the Dashboard page or do you have to check your CC statement? thanks

For me it's crap! I'm using the $300 coupon, I will drain it then stop.
50% ctr from 7search traffic is like 15% ctr from looksmart. And I pay 2-4 times more / click on looksmart too.
