I was just coming in here to post this myself. OP failed ot mention transfers are $4.99. $4.99 transfers + free Whois is ridiculous. I just emailed my GoDaddy rep asking them to match the price otherwise they are going to take a battering. I'll move a shit load of domains if they don't.
 
I came here to share this but I knew it would have been posted already. the Transfers at 4.99 are the best part for me ...Good bye GoDaddy

Well you always got the free year, since they always called it a transfer fee, and it was always +1 year on top of however much time you had left at your current registrar. So the transfer would be as normal, just much much lower price and the 18 cents for icann fee included.

FUCK... i bought all the domains i needed right before i heard about this. could have saved a ton of money
 
Argh! Waited too long; Namecheap won't transfer domains that expire within 7 days, so I'll have to bite the GoDaddy renewal fee.
