So listen to this. A local forum I post on only had one available DNS server, so a few years ago they started using a friends. Just the other day, the friends domain dropped and got picked up by a speculator. The secondary DNS was still set to the expired domain, which had a nameserver running on it and was used for parking. So for several days, everyone had sporadic trouble getting to the forum and would end up on the parking page. Everyone was confused and clicked around trying to see what was up.
So, get a database of nameservers for domains with traffic. Wait until they expire, scoop them up and just have them resolve everything to your own IP. Worth it? Probably not, but the right one could make some good (and shady) money.
