Who do you guys download from?

For years I've been following around axxo, but he's not putting out movies (again). Recently I've been getting movies uploaded by fxg but his assortment kind of sucks at times.

I know I can search for specific movies, but I really prefer just browsing a single uploader whom I trust to give me high quality time after time. If it matters, I only download stuff that's been released on DVD.
 


Do you want xvid/avi or mkv?


I know axxo is xvid...there is a lot of 300-400mb hd releases by a few people but they are in mkv format.

But honestly, I'll change my dl/burning habits if there's something better out there .. I'm just looking for someone pumping out new releases on a regular basis who has good quailty shit.

Those guys are reliable, they release x264 movies around 300mb in size, mkv format...you can find them on warez bb and probably other forums...

their usernames are at the bottom left.
 
Usenet for the win. I use Giganews with an encrypted line. No more relying on unstable torrents with variable speeds and the need for seeding. Just plain downloading 24x7 with full speed at whatever your broadband connection can handle.

alt.binaries.movies.xvid is a good place to start looking. Unlike with torrent sites, where a lot of shit is spewed out by password-hoarders and idiots, the Usenet groups still remain mostly clean with proper releases, and very little b.s.

And btw, yes you can still search for releases only by certain posters/release groups just like you can with torrents. NZBsRus is another decent search engine, although it can get a bit annoying with their smiley central banner ads and popups if you're not a "vip member"
 
I run on Pretome for all my scene releases. Check them out. If you need an invite let me know. Invites there are pretty scarce.
 
yea look for sc0rp releases ... specially those with 300mb to 500mb ... really same quality as 700mb ones... but in mkv format ...
 
I wouldn't go for anything other then scene releases, unless you don't care about quality.

I use...
- Filelist.org: Torrentsite that has all the new scene releases and gives great speeds (+1MB/s), but a good upload/download ratio has to be maintained. A movie is usually downloaded in 15 minutes.
- Rlslog.net + Rapidshare Plus: Rlslog.net posts all the new releases (+ a lot more) and in the comments, many Rapidshare links are posted. Copy/paste these links into Rapidshare Plus and let it download in the background. I have Rapidshare Plus in my autostartup folder. A movie is usually downloaded in 5 hours. No uploading needed!

thepiratebay works, just find which file has the most downloaders and its usually the best quality one available

cross check that with vcdquality and you got yourself a winner
 
yeah axxo is the shit. I try to get his copies whenever possible.
For cams and screeners Stuffies is my favorite. That guy does amazing things to a cam. Sometimes i will have watched the whole movie before someone stands up and i realize it was a cam copy.

Diamond is really awesome for early dvd rips. He has great quality and doesn't resort to that mkv bullshit. Diamond also has a ton of stuff so i suspect its a group of ppl.

Yes, Diamond is a scene group. Axxo, Stuffies, ... just take scene releases, re-encodes them to make smaller files and release them as their own.
