I’ve been having trouble lately with my posts on wordpress. I have a custom developed plugin that allows a user to upload a photo and the photo is automatically added to a post and then I go and approve the post before it goes live.
Now, when a user makes a post via this plugin, the photo shows in the post as an attachment (/?attachment) instead of from the gallery (/wp-content). This is a huge pain in the ass because when someone clicks on the post excerpt (it is not the featured image showing, it is an excerpt from the post) it takes them to an attachment page with no styling on it.

An example of the problem can be seen with the “Valentine’s Day Foot Bulletin Board”, it is the second post on the homepage but here are links to both the actual post (what should be linked to from the homepage photo) and the attachment which it is currently linking to and shouldn’t.
