I'm trying to dig up newer jazz pianists who specialize in fast-tempo songs. I know a lot of you have your fingers on the pulse of up-and-coming artists, and am hoping you can provide recommendations.
Here are a few examples of the type of jazz piano I'm looking for:
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wSkc8TChn0]Eldar Djangirov Trio at Riga Ritmi Jazz Festival "Exposition" - YouTube[/ame]
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmM_RhuXdlk]ELDAR DJANGIROV PLACE ST HENRI - YouTube[/ame]
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ld43x2F0JI]ELDAR BLUES SKETCH - YouTube[/ame]
And from 7:45 to 9:15, courtesy of Rudess of Dream Theater (the entire album is great, by the way):
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FexMw1LwAZk]John Petrucci & Jordan Rudess - YouTube[/ame]
I'm a fan of the greats, like Tatum, Brubeck, and Thelonius Monk. But I'm on the hunt for newer blood at the keys.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
