Need Some Computer Help

Hey all,

All of my shortcuts on my desktop have lost their images. They now just show the same generic picture. Can anyone help me correct this?

What OS? Do you recall doing anything that may have prompted that? etc. Some details would help!

EDIT: If it was midget pr0n, it's cool. No judgment here.

When I create a new icon, sometimes the image will show up at first, but then it disappears again when I reboot.

I have run AVG antivirus and SuperAntiSpyware. I could not find any virus or malware.

I am running Windows XP with SP2.

I can't remember when this actually started. It has been several weeks now. It is really annoying!!
 
Don't know if this will work, but you could try a system restore back to a date before they disappeared.
 
Ok, there are a few things you can try.

First off - and I doubt this is it - right click on your desktop, and under the "arrange icons" menu, make sure "show icons on desktop" is checked. XP is a fickle little bitch sometimes, so you might want to try unchecking/checking.

Sounds like the guy was having a similar problem.

Try defferent antiviruses (NOD and Kaspersky are very good). Also you can try Spybot and Lavasoft Adaware, they are both free.
