I got a deal with a relative who wants me to sell a large amount of workstation cubicles that is worth a total ~50 grand. I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with this sort of thing or has any suggestions on how to approach this? Right now all i'm doing is throwing it up on craigslist.

It's close to ~100 workstations that he'd like to sell all at once. I was thinking about building a small LP but not sure how to promote it being that its only one lot of goods. Commission is 10%

I have some experience in this area - but it's really limited.

I personally think you have two options:

1.) Wholesale liquidator - easy to find, very low $$$

2.) Direct sale to new/expanding business

Most Chambers of Commerce, banks, etc, have divisions, people that help new/expanding businesses. Assuming the stuff is all in good shape both visually and servicable - I'd contact those people with a description and pricing.

Building a LP may work in a larger metro area but due to the pain of shipping that kind of stuff most people are going to be looking locally.

What about some buy it now multiple sales on ebay?

I've got this domain:

buy-office-furniture.com

You can use it for a few months if you want.

Make a set like one cubicle and move to a little area and take some good pics. Scan and upload.

Put on Ebay and make sure to put local pickup only. Let it run and see what happens. Use the high bidder and maybe more on the list as a source of contacts.

See how many units they want and try not to get dinged by Ebay for going around the auction process.

BTW This will not be fun and I would ask for more than 10%

looks great, ill check it out, have you used it?

The furniture is in excellent condition so i dont think quality is going to be an issue here. I can ship this anywhere but yeah it probably would be harder to sell outside of Texas. Where would I contact or ask for to find the bank division? I'm unfamiliar with this and I'd like to check it out.
