What, in your opinion, makes a good network for both the advertisers and the affiliates? :)

What about what makes for an excellent affiliate program?

This question is of course open to your interpretation. I'm just trying to get a conversation going :D

I think an even playing field where publishers know exactly what the advertisers are paying out makes for a good program. A small fee could be taken out from the total profits generated by affiliates from the advertisers offers in order to pay for hosting/tech support/employees etc.

This is what we pondered at RevenueLoop months ago. It defnitely gets old quick having to haggle for pricing on specific offers. A network should be a value added service to affilates and advertisers and haggling for pricing takes away time to add that value added service.

My 2 cents

The best affiliate program can;
Effortlessly put eBay auction adverts on your websites.
DNS management with system monitoring and fail over, plus other email and related services.
Put a virtual poster store on your site

Can it? Nice...

Great communication - I want a friendly AM - and a good selection of attractive offers (that don't just accept US traffic, redirecting international to an unrelated offer).

Copeac are great for the communication and friendliness, but their choice of non-US offers is very limited (and the directrack redirect is fuckin annoying!)

A good network depends on what it is that the publisher needs. Different networks have different niches and types of campaigns, so a search pub wont want to run with a network that is composed 75% of email publishers. On top of it, you will get AM's that know nothing about what you need and just keep throwing you offers that might not work for you even though they are working for everyone else. Also, I would ask around and ask for the top affiliate manager at the networks you decide to work with and request to work with them, they are usually the best for a reason.

We are treat our affiliates like family (GREAT) and have plenty of international as well as U.S. offers.

I agree that in order for the system to run efficiently there needs to be a good AM, system & tracking- I believe that we do have all three of those components:rasta:

Gotta love the engrish.

I think you need to think more on what makes a rubbish network for publishers and affiliates.

These include late payments, crap support, low paying comission, bad tracking of sales, etc.
