I've been a PC guy all my life, but have used a mac off and on. I finally made the call and purchased a 15" Macbook Pro. Now I need to get the essential accessories...ie. carrying case, etc.

Any ideas of some dope bags? Please don't link me to that piece of s*!t thread that I saw about bags from AUS :xmas-smiley-016: I already read that one and not interested!

Yeah, I was going to roll out to check out the Apple store by Union Square in SF...i'm sure they'll probably have a good selection...

Bags & Notebook Cases - Apple Store (U.S.)

might be a good place to start...

I got one of those hurley bags, cause i wanted a bag for school, it's decent, a lot of padding around the computer...nothing crazy, but i liked the pinstripe design, and it had a lot of protection for my computer.

Every apple store i've been to i've never seen any bags, but i've never asked either. they might be in some hidden corner that I don't go to. You might want to call first.

I've looked into those, however I've heard those cases tend to overheat the system due to poor ventilation...

I was more looking for something to carry the laptop in when going from office to office or traveling.

I've got the spec hard outer shell case kind of thing. I think its more useful than those other case/bags since it keeps it protected all of the time. It does make your laptop a little bit bigger but I don't mind it. I've had it on since I got it and it has been great. Plus, the black one looks badass with the black accents on the newer unibody macbooks.

Like I said, I've never taken mine off since I got it, which was over a year ago. I've got a 17 inch MBP and I spend pretty much all day on it and it has never overheated. I've used it to do some decently resource heavy things for extended periods of time, like watching Netflix, converting huge videos, rendering 3D scenes/animation using Maya overnight, etc. I don't know what you plan on using yours for, but I have iStat, which displays the temperature of my MBP, and I've never seen it get anywhere that would be a problem.
