i'm thinking of getting a new pc but can i write this off as a business expense even though it is not used only for business? i want to get a new monitor too

thanks

I hope you know that you can't write the whole thing off as a "business expense" in one year.

I have no idea what the life of a computer or monitor is off the top of my head. You are going to have to look that up.

Then just (Cost - Salvage Value) x (1 / Useful Life)

Just say your salvage value is 0, save some more coin :P

But for sure write it off, I write off my college tuition as a business expense. "Furthering my education to help my business". Going out to dinner - *client*...you know....

Edit: Who am I trying to kid, just say its useful life is one year because by next year it will be outdated. Though I don't know how well that is going to fly with Uncle Sam.
