too much blue in the new design. i kinda like the old design. its plain, spacious, graphically rich but not disorganized or distracting.

geek, thats what i was looking for in addition to the new vs old - What about it would you "spruce" up?

Also.... Holy shit... I have never seen that it doesnt load in IE6... That could explain a whole shit load of things like why I dont get shit for traffic...

Well, the header on the new design has kind of a "pin-stripe" thing going on that looks pretty good. Can you implement that into that into the old header?

Since I'm not a designer I look at websites in what I think is much the same way as most users - cool looking buttons, professional looks, and really slick designs that aren't over-the-top seem to unconsciously draw me in. I think you're *almost* there with the old design, but if you made it just a little more "Web 2.0" ish I think that it would be clean and impressive.

geek, im no designer either - nor do I have the budget to drop $75+ for a design for all of my sites, I can get around in Photoshop and after a few tries usually get something that I think is decent enough...

I will try to work in the pinstriping on the old design..

The biggest I dont like on the old design is the left and right menus and news area..Anyone have any tips for making those look better?

Also... Fixed the IE issue.. It was an unclosed HTML comment in some javascript I got from a tutorial site on auto sizing popups, I guess that will teach me to check code before I just slap it in there...I feel especially dumb considering the amount of time ive spent trying to figure out whats going on with this site... That and the $15 I spent on PPC only to find out now that IE users couldnt see my site... Fuck me..

Atleast you know now.

I'm going to agree with everyone else, the old design is definitely better.

Roger that....

This ends our new testing period... Thank you for your cooperations...

Seriously, thank you guys for your opinions and pointing out that huge error... I may try to kick up some PPC again...

Alright...

So I gave the old design some more love and changed things - My new roomate is a big soccer geek and threw in the idea that it would make it more...personable if there was a picture of the team on their page...

Anyway, heres the new homepage...

MLS Jerseys and Replica Major League Soccer Gear - MLS Jerseys

I added the stripes per Geeks suggestion, I think it gives it a subtle "extra"

I have yet to add pictures for the all the teams but here are 2 I did so far... Notice I moved the menu from the image down to the bottom of the header, this not only gives me more un-interuptd real estate for the photos but also makes the navigation stick out more...

Chicago Fire Jerseys and Replica Chicago Fire Gear - MLS Jerseys
Houston Dynamo Jerseys and Replica Houston Dynamo Gear - MLS Jerseys

I like the team pictures. Obviously anything to make the page even more relevant to what a person is looking for is great.

Assuming that you've got a PPC campaign... Are you dynamically changing the featured product, graphics, and jerseys based on a user's search terms?

Ive long since abandoned the PPC campaign because it wasnt working (wonder why :crap: )

I have team specific landing pages with seperate ad groups for each team, ie. Chivas USA Adgroup went to Chivas USA landing page....
