New to Affiliate Marketing

Hello everyone.

I am pretty new to both this forum and affiliate marketing. :o I'd like to know the basics before I start to go more in-depth with the topic.

I have created three questions below in which I hope will be answered by you guys, and the experienced affiliate marketers of this forum.

  1. What is affiliate marketing?
  2. What are common ways to promote affiliates?
  3. What is/are the most cost-effective (in means of cheapest costs with best ROI/results) mean of affiliate marketing?
 


1.selling other people's products for a percentage of the sale
2.article writing, forums, blogs, squidoo pages, webpages, ppc
3.everything in answer #2 except ppc

Because I'm feeling generous.

1. Affiliate marketing allows merchants to pay their affiliates based on performance.[/SIZE]" It's not only internet though.

2. Promote affiliates? I think you mean promote products that merchants give you. In which the mains are organic (SEO), PPC (Pay Per Click), and Mail - there's also others like social network spam, IM spamming, media brokering etc etc.

3. Best ROI? Organic because it doesn't cost you much at all. Best immediate performance? PPC. It depends on what you're into.

These are just my answers, and it's a little late. Enough said, hope I helped.

I thought affiliate marketing was actually means of marketing and advertising affiliate programs.

I am trying to promote affiliate programs that I am enrolled in. I am going to start messing around with PPC marketing, though I am totally new at this.

Would anyone like to give a n00b a few pointers or references for PPC-affiliate marketing? :)
 
J Money.......your questions reminded me of WHAT Julius Caesar said and did. upon reaching the British Isles.
Upon landing he ordered ALL the Roman Army's Ships/Boats to be Burnt, then he said,
"Conquer or Die !"

After a time the Romans Conquered the British Isles, and he said again,
"I came, I saw, I conquered"

  3. What is/are the most cost-effective (in means of cheapest costs with best ROI/results) mean of affiliate marketing? Blogging. Then when you make some cash - throw in a few websites & then major PPC campaigns. :)
