Allow me To introduce myself Im Leon and From the uk, have been a member here for over 6 months and this is my First Post. I havnt Got an ebook for sale so shuv your ban hammers up your arse, just thought I would get your attention.

This is my way of introducing myself and I will also be posting a theory of mine. I am Going to write what I believe to be a big opportunity in gaining BackLinks for seo.

I currently am not earning anything from affiliate marketing, and im no guru, I have been reading and reading but not doing yet! have a few sites obviously but nothing to shout about.

I would say I have enough Knowledge to start making a decent ammount of money on the web and plan on making this my main priority over the next 2 months to kick multiple things off.

<----- Now The Backlink Gaining Theory ----->

I assume you have all heard about google and yahoo working with adobe to make swf flash files more indexable in the search engines.

Now this caught my attention straight away, and been reading on forums to see what people have to say, but all the threads seem to be about the new SUPER DUPER flash landing pages that affiliate marketers will be able to use and blah de blah.

So my theory is to create loads of flash animations games any pile of shit flash swf file with a link back to your websites and uploading them to various places, some video sites use swf objects NOT youtube!. and also uploading them on blogs giving them away to other sites, outsourcing simple flash games and giving them to arcades etc. making video animations etc.

and they will be crawled by google and have the backlinks counted (this part depends on what site you put the swf on because as we all know google loves some sites more than others)

obviously you need to find websites to upload your swf files (im not going to spoon feed you as I am also a spoon fed Newbie at the moment).

any way there goes my first post.

Please now post your abuse on how much of a fucking retard I am and send me back to DigitalPoint where I will package this ifrmation right or wrong and sell it to all the other gurus on that forum :D

Hey Leon, welcome to WF (formally :p)!

The idea sounds good, but I'm no expect in SEO so I'm not sure if it would work or if Google would even count it as a link.

Hi Sohan thanks for the welcome, If you read the google blog I linked to it states the following:

" In addition to finding and indexing the textual content in Flash files, we're also discovering URLs that appear in Flash files, and feeding them into our crawling pipeline—just like we do with URLs that appear in non-Flash webpages. For example, if your Flash application contains links to pages inside your website, Google may now be better able to discover and crawl more of your website."

So looks like they do.

It doesn't say if they will treat these links as nofollow though. Search engines are always looking for better, easier, faster ways to crawl and find new sites/pages. So if it can pick up on this, it will help the search engine find your pages within your site better. I don't see anything mentioning it will treat them as a backlink. I think it is to help the search engines, and not web masters.

Yea but arcade links are shit quality. You'd need a ton to do any good I'd imagine.

not a bad idea, its similar to giving away widgets and whatnot for backlinks. THe question is how will google treat links within flash.

Just got on the net and decided to do a little deaper research into this. so I went to google uk and did a "filetype:swf index" without quotes to find flash sites, anyway i found http://www.microchunk.com/circle.swf and it has got an external link to Manchester International Festival - Homepage so I used seobooks backlink analyzer to check the links and it showed up in the results.

This confirms that links are counted as backlinks in swf files. whats also interesting is the link was a actually an image link and not a text link so image links are counted as backlinks from swf files as well so remember to alt text your images in flash.:thumbsup:

quality post with a good backup for your theory. I guess it's not just a theory anymore. Im on it.
