I get a friend request from this girl I don't know. Check the profile and see she is going to fullsail for an internet marketing degree. An internet marketing degree?? hahaha! She also mentions she does SEO. I reply mentioning I know a little bit about SEO and PPC just to see the response.

She replies back "Pay Per Click is bullshit".

I ask her to back it up and so she does: "Did you know we know have heat sensor measurement tools? We can measure where you look on the screen. Over 85% of people never look to the right where the pay per click ads usually end up."

I don't want to even respond to this retarded statement. Instead I want to show her what SEO is all about and rank her name #1 in google.... could be epic... might not be... thought it might be fun for some of you who are bored.

Her name is ***edited***

Maybe I am wrong here....

But i am pretty sure her statement about 85% of the people never look at the right side of the screen where the ads are is TRUE.

and that those remaining 15% who actually DO look at the ads make up for 90% of the clicks.

Edit:

Found it.
"h an even smaller core of people (representing 8 percent of the Internet user base) accounting for the vast majority (85 percent) of all clicks. "

comScore and Starcom USA Release Updated ?Natural Born Clickers? Study Showing 50 Percent Drop in Number of U.S. Internet Users Who Click on Display Ads - comScore, Inc

That said... we all obviously all know that PPC isn't bullshit and that she is just regurgitating what her Internet Marketing Prof told her.

I can agree with the 85%, but is Adwords revenue in the billions just for fun?? Heat sensors ftw if you want some internet monies i guess.

Oh God.. Applying academia to internet marketing now and spending full semesters studying details that are completely irrelevant..

Whoever the prof's are, they're probably just bitter that they lost their wife and half their bank account trying to arbitrage adwords to adsense clicks :D

Wow - didn't realize all PPC ads were on the right. I must be doing it wrong cuz my shit hits the top on search, and wherever on content. Of course, I'm not working on an Internet Marketing degree so I'm probably wrong.

such hard fucking lulz.

anyone want to rent out a floor of an office building, call it "make moniez online university" and charge 30k a year ?

Heat sensor shit along with these statistics have been around for long ass time. I learned about it like 2 years ago from guru faggots at Stompernet and I'm sure it was known well before that.

Meanwhile in real schools

People are actually using ocular strap on devices to measure attention, focus and engagement not fucking javascript click tracking.
