With the changes in G with the importance of non-anchored links, where are most of you guys getting your non-anchored links from?

Of course you can non-anchored social bookmarks, but I bet most people are still doing 70%+ anchored on those orders. 95% of all the other services on this forum are anchored.

Yes, I could blast non-anchored profile links or wiki links to my site, but prefer not to have a bunch of low quality crappy links going to the money site.

So what are your preferred method of non-anchored links?

Personally I'm using a mix of brand, click here, URL and anchor across services / bought links.

Splits down about 25% each.

I think anyone who says anchored links don't work anymore is wrong but building a balanced link profile over time pays dividends. 500 mixed / general links can mask two or three really decent anchored links.

I'm also thinking about blasting non anchored links at sites as a fast track way to make brand signals - a no follow will make no odds for this purpose.

The reaction from service providers is interesting, when I ask for 'click here' and myurl.com as the anchors a fair few have freaked out. Anchored links are still giving them next week results which is good for business but I don't think it's good long term.

I had a provider tell me that I must have made a mistake because I put the URL in the keyword slot and in the URL slot. It made me wonder why he hadn't seen using the URL as anchor text before...

I think your strategy is a good one. Its easy to get to page one, but its a different story to get to #1 plus the effect that being seen as THE authority site has on broad search longtail.

There's a lot of data to back up the difference between #5 and #1 and the reasons you don't want too much anchoring.
