People are always looking at an idea. In truth the best thing would be to try to do something with what you are studying with.
Consider the topics you study and try and branch a website in that direction - topic.
The process to make money online has many routes as the link with the nice graphics of showing where to focus shows. There are many different models also.
Some people try to make authority sites - eBay.
Some people try to make a product site - Amazon.
Some people try to make a communication authority site - YouTube, FaceBook, etc.
Some people try to do affiliate marketing.
Some people try to scam.
Some people try to freelance.
Some people try to do online publishing.
These are just some ways to go about things. It is a strategy and everyone believes the route they take is the right one.
Ultimately it will depend on your needs, wants and what you have available as resources - time and money.
Some are faster methods to set up than others.
As you are new you will likely find a steep learning curve that will require as much investment and more than a college education! My suggestion is whatever you do, utilize the knowledge in the subjects you are working on in college. That way you will find that you have the knowledge to be able to apply it online to make money with it.
Whether that is using your knowledge in the subject to do publishing or find a service to offer such a group of people. For example if someone studies science then they could focus on a science based publishing site or may offer science based products, such as lab equipment.
Again it depends on how big are your resources in time and money that you can invest into this.
