Not letting users hit the back button?

What do you guys think of this method? There's many people on adwords who don't let the users hit the back button. They load like a 1x1 iframe so when it hits back it just goes back in the iframe, and not the page. Do you guys think this will increase sales?

Probably not - If someone is trying to leave your site and cannot, they'll probably just close their browser. Forcing someone to stay on your site who most likely wants to leave isn't a good strategy.

Anyway, I believe Google's terms state that the back button must lead back to the search results from the page landed on.

Ya thats a TOS violation and lame as hell to boot. Someone would complain to G about it. Try other things to get people to stay. Autoloading video or a nice picture or a great headline.
