Now THIS is a yacht

Anyone know how much it'll be?

And I was thinking the same thing kblessinggr - the back just appears to be a drop off - no gate coming down or anything. Couldn't pirates, assuming they were near you, hop on deck and break in?

At 15mph max, it wouldn't be hard to just come right up and hop on. Course for lack of mechanical benefits, I wonder how their electronics are, radar and what not. And I guess if I were living on that thing with a crew compliment of 20, half would probably be security detail.

I mean the thing seems like a dream, but compared to a traditional yacht it doesn't look too secure against storm or uninvited guests.

I doubt it'll ever be built. If it is, I wouldn't want to own it. The unconventional hull design doesn't inspire confidence in me. There's a reason my most ships are built the way they are, they don't sink.

With the shape that thing is I don't see why they didn't just make it a trimaran. It would probably be a lot faster and more stable that way. Meh, they probably just wanted to design something completely useless to get people talking about them...

....

They've already built a full size model. Check the second vid under WHY | Wally Herms Yachts official website for pics & discussion of the hull.
"Then the tried and tested Norwegian Ramform hull characterised by exceptional and unprecedented stability and volume and spotted by Luca Bassani Antivari, revealed itself as the ideal choice to be adapted to the WHY 58×38 project."

Gotta love Wally. From their power yachts to their sailing yachts, nothing they do is ordinary.

I also love all these boats that have specs like this: 12 guests, 20 crew... or 12 guests, 24 crew. If it were mine I would want, 24 guests, 12 crew. Seems kind of ridiculous otherwise.
