I've basically searched everywhere but was unable to find an answer, so forgive me if this has already been answered on this forum.
I'm planning to target low competition niches, and since I don't have an abundace of $$$ to invest, I was thinking of consolidating all the niches under one domain even though the niches don't particularly relate to one another. My question is would I get penalized by the big "G" if I were to do this? Part of me says no because About.com is doing exactly that but I'm not sure if they are doing something different that I am not aware of.
I don't plan to use subdomains rather just put them in a folder under the main domain. For example www.domain.com/niche1... www.domain.com/niche2... www.domain.com/niche3 ect... I would install wordpress in each folder acting as a "mini site" under the main domain, I don't plan on linking any of them, but since they are under the same domain wouldn't they somehow already be linked, thus comes my concern for crosslinking, something I have a vague idea about. Sorry for the long winded post, can anyone ease my thoughts? Thanks in advance, John.
