Seriously, what the fuck? Is it just me or are there like 3-4 asshats starting these fucking threads every day lately. FUCKING READ THE FORUM RULES.

Time to start swinging the ban hammer and cleaning this place up. The retard : good poster ratio is getting way too high in my opinion.
 


Maybe Stanley can make a filter that stops threads with the words "introduction" or "new here" from being created and redirects them to a dick roll once they click the "post" button.

In the meantime, it sends them a PM that tells them to stop being a retard and read the forum rules.
 
If they are limited to just a posting restriction, they'll be spamming it up and still not read the rules. This is very noticeable on forums that limit links in signatures to people with 100 or more posts.

At the same time, I don't think it should be a manual removal process. Mods have better things to do than be reactive to this and remove on sight.
 
How about a filter that enables anyone to ban any member who has been registered for less than a week?

Half of the intro threads are probably posted by senior members who start new accounts.

They're trolling. They're bored. They know it's an easy way to get a rise out of people. They post an intro, pretend to get rolled, and come back and say, "My daughter saw MMO you jerk. That ain't cool."

Everyone laughs, including the troll. Everyone's satisfied.

The only way to fix the problem (if it's a problem people want to fix) is to ignore the intro threads. A mod can close the threads immediately, letting 'em descend off the first page. Leave -rep for the intro poster.

Banning folks is a temporary solution. A band aid. They'll just open another account and troll again.

Ban hammers won't change a systemic problem anymore than prohibition will stop people from drinking.

I don't get it either, guy. When I first registered here, as well as any forum, I read the rules and skim at least the first couple pages of each section; these dumbfuck "hurr durr hallo" threads are getting old quick. Another one just popped up as I was looking for this thread to reply to.

Beginning to think Trademark is right. Pretty pathetic if correct though. Who the fuck has time to create fake accounts just to post these stupid ass intro threads? Get to work and make some money.
 
The problem with WF and newbies has always been that the newbie forum is all the way at the bottom.

All that needs to be done to fix it is to show the newbie forum at the very top for anyone with less than 25 posts... Then they will all post the stupid intro threads in the newbie forum and we won't see them in STS anymore.
