Got an inside scoop a few days ago that a particular company I have a relationship with had some high level meetings scheduled regarding my unorthodox digital promotional methods.

It seems they were worried that my "unorthodox" promotional methods were having a negative impact on their brand reputation that was beginning to outweigh the hefty profits I provided them.

I got other stuff going on, but this is one of my primary breadwinners. Getting the axe from them would have been a pretty brutal overhand right on the tip of the chin.

Was I in the wrong? IMO No.
But that's the risk you take when any third party has control over your income.

Nice wake up call and a swift reminder to always be on the lookout for opportunities to take out middlemen and advance your position, control, and ownership.

Just got the e-mail today that I'm in the clear.

When you go down that route, keep other opportunities in the wings even if they pay a lot less.

The extra security is a fair trade.

I got the same email about my methods, they can't track what I"m doing so they just emailed me wanting detailed analytics and everything. I wonder if it's the same company, though.
 
No, nothing really involving spam.

It was mostly a content issue. More like usage of questionably vulgar content in ads.
Not that exactly, but much more along those lines then spamming.
Shock value works.
 
Alcohol is very bad for you, I do not recommend that you consume excessive amounts of it.
 
Once you're on the radar you are always on it. If you can have back up plans, so can they and their back up plans mainly consist of other people just like you.

As soon as you slouch a little the other you will take your place.
