Always cool to see the early hustle behind these huge acquisitions.

Every news story seems to glamorize the process like its some overnight success.
 
This is great since it really shows there was nothing special about the app, not even the guy who created it is particularly extraordinary.

Imagine that, a $19 billion acquisition and the founder is marketing his app (which is not at all unique) on a forum like an Indian peddling his links in STS. Fascinating shit.
 
It's extremely motivating and shows that you really can start from the bottom and make it to the top. Reminds me of those posts made by Andrew Mason, the founder of Groupon, where he was asking simple javascript questions.
