Online Leads For Offline Shutters

We built a tracking system today which lists all the leads either over the phone or via the form (over the phone i add manually to db). He then logs in or relays to me and I add info...1) if call was made 2) appointment set up 3) deal closed 4) amount of sale.

In business there needs to be trust, online affiliate companies could do the same thing but not as easy. I trust the guy, hes a nice guy with a family and I can tell he wants to succeed and is greatful for what I am providing him. Who knows maybe he might change after awhile. will have to wait and see. I could always call the lead if I feel something is up.

Thanks for the lawyer idea...I am going to call my lawyer tomorrow and see if he is interested. Also talk to accountant too...although I bet these areas are more saturated.

Oh and 7 leads today for $109, I must be doubling his business at least.

And he is finding that these people are serious, he has been turned down once, thats because I took to long to send him the lead and the guy found someone else already.

I'm not saying the guy is dishonest, but things can easily go wrong and you can avoid a lot of headache by making sure you are not just relying on him to find out what leads converted.

One idea would be to capture the lead's email in addition to their name and number, that way you could follow up on each email in your database, asking them if they bought the product or not (just use an autoresponder). It's not 100% accurate, but it's pretty damn close.

And to avoid giving off the wrong impression to the manufacturer, you could tell him you follow up with each lead via email to generate extra sales.

Or you could even hire someone to make a customer service follow up call on those that didn't pan out. Frame it like it was a survey of sorts and that you were just making a courtesy call to find out why they decided not to do business with XYZ shutter guy. Many might just hang up on you (which you could care less) but those that actually hired him will listen and respond and those are the ones you want to make a tally of.

I'm trying something similar to this but I'm actually working in the business right now making those sales. Its not in shutters, but the same concept can be applied. I just got my LP design done last night by a member here and am looking forward to doing some testing

And its definately not for a $2000 product, so this is really exciting. g33ks i'm curious, how many kws you using to net those 7 leads? I got a list of like 3-400 for my niche that i'm going to let loose tonight or tomorrow.

Generating leads for offline businesses is a great way to make some extra bank. I'm in the works right now with some lawyers to generate leads for them for a specific lawsuit niche.

You'd be surprised how many people run successful offline businesses and haven't even thought about taking their business to the net.

10% gross is nice BUT beware that a lot of these local companies are complete morons at sales. I do a lot of local lead generation and MOST of the leads are never closed into sales because:

1) Their salespeople suck.
2) They never even follow up.
3) They think their work is worth way more then it actually is.

Ya I agree there are tons of shit sales guys, but I can tell this guy is good since he sold to me ;). Thats the reason I took interest in working with him. Plus I thought it would be interesting to see if I could actually help grow his business...a challenge. Its not always about the money...just most of the time.

Those 7 leads came from approx 80 sq km...he is motivated to sell cause he owns the factory so big upside for him so he covers a large area. I just hope he can handle all of the leads.

Shit I thought you said KM not keywords. Its only about 100 keywords, but 20 get all the traffic. Highly recommend pixel tracking on the thank-you page after they enter phone number etc.

Hey Guys

Had a guy come by my house last week to quote me for custom wood shutters. We started talking business and long story short, he knew nothing about the net but owns the factory that makes the wood shutters as well as sells them he said he could double production but sucks at marketing. Took a quick look on google and noticed not much competition.
He said any leads I get he'd give me 10% of gross. Whipped up landing page Friday afternoon to grab phone number and name.

Have given him 5 leads since Saturday, he went to first home today and made a "small sale" $2000...earning me $200. Cost for 5 leads approx $100, 4 leads left for him to close, will be paid in cash too which is worth even more.

I agreed to work with him on this since he manufactures them, has a great price and is a sick sick sales guy.

Just thought I'd pass on example of how you can make money offline. I will optimize the google campaign later this week add to yahoo and put on cruise control, sending this guy leads daily and letting him do all the work...

I bet there are tons of other niches out there like this including air conditioners, central vac, hardwood flooring, surround sound installation and more!

That is pretty sweet. I have often thought about this business model... I guess just never had the time to get out there and recruit roofers or something. :error::error::error::error::error::eek:
