Online pharmacies -- wtf?

For all the talk on affiliate marketing forums about pushing pills online, I've actually never tried ordering from an online pharmacy. I know that my mother used to order her asthma medication online, and sometimes it would get seized and they'd send a letter saying "we've got your shit, bring a prescription if you want it". But nothing more severe than that ever happened.

I'm sure there are also places that just don't even ship the meds and pocket your cash because you really have no recourse.

Anyway, I'm not trying to move Oxy or anything. I travel a fair amount outside of the country and I usually try to bring one bottle of antibiotics plus some tranquilizers for the flight itself. Wouldn't mind stocking up on both if any of these places are for real, but I have no clue how they operate or which ones are outright scams.

Any input or advice from the pill pushers/poppers in the crowd?

careful buying that online shit...a lot of it is laced with other stuff and half the time you dont know wtf you're gonna get

these online pharmacies are quite helpful when you are in need of a medicine and your town has no medical store around or you are stuck due to ice landing or something....

Here are my suggestions, which are based entirely off of your question without knowing anything about your medical history, current conditions, current drug therapies, allergies, OTC product use, etc.

TALK. TO. YOUR. DOCTOR. Why would you buy something of unknown content and efficacy off of the internet when you can just visit your GP?

It's very common to get a prescription drawn up for antibiotics to carry with you when traveling in case of traveler's diarrhea, etc.

As to the tranquilizers, your Dr. can either give you a short-term scrip for something high-powered like zopiclone (doubtful unless you are absolutely terrified of flying) or you can just visit your local pharmacy and pick up something over-the-counter which will cause drowsiness, such as a first-generation antihistamine like diphenhydramine (Benadryl).

Regardless: talk to your doctor or at least a pharmacist. There's a reason we go through many years of incredibly tough schooling.

(pseudo) Qualifications: 2nd year Pharmacy student (hopefully heading to med!)

All valid points, and I do generally procure my scripts through a doctor. The problem I've found is that doctors are extremely tight fisted about antibiotics. Blah blah blah people developing an immunity, sure sure, none of your fucking business. I tried to get something for anxiety from my doc, who is a fucking quack (looking for a new one now), and he wanted to put me on something long-term so that I'd have to keep taking it every day and keep coming back to him. Doctors are shit these days, IMHO, and can not be trusted because they don't have patients' best interest in mind. I'm looking for the pharmacy because I'm tired of trying to convince some prick in a lab coat that I actually know what medicines my body responds to when he's only concerned with punting the shit his pharma sales rep pushed on him.

Your doctor is being socially responsible by being "tight fisted" with antibiotics. It's not about people developing immunity with over-prescription of antibiotics, it's about bacteria developing immunity, and it is a big fucking deal.

There are very few new antibiotics in the pipeline, and the ones we have are rapidly losing efficacy against a lot of bacteria. If that happens we are basically back in the 1800s for a lot of diseases.

ie. Cut your arm and get a staph infection? Sorry, arm has to come off, if you don't have septicaemia already.

Of course, doctors are only half the story. The other half is routine dosing of farm animals with broad-spectrum antibiotics. However, the farm lobby won't allow vets to stop that, so we're pretty much fucked.

Although you're right about the long term meds thing - that is bullshit.

I've always wondered about these sites too. I mean, I would figure they would at least try to ship you quality product (instead of laced or unsafe shit) so that you come back to them over and over. A huge portion of their business has to come from pillheads. Then again, who knows.

BINGOOOO! And TBH I could give a fuck about doctors' alleged social responsibilities. They weren't too concerned with all that when they were pouring Chantix down people's throats (mine included thanks to 17 years of smoking) until motherfuckers started losing their skin. Literally.

If you haven't seen this, watch it and laugh your ass off: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hp_y0wDFz0]Chantix....This is an actual commercial - YouTube[/ame]

Antibiotics have been around forever (like you said) and have been researched more than a lot of the other pill-for-every-ill crap that big pharma is pushing out. I had another doctor just last year try to put me on paxil after a less-than-10 minute conversation because I was complaining about irritability. Turns out I had 2x as much testosterone in my system as I was supposed to, but she was set to put me on antidepressants after less than 10 minutes. Where's the social responsibility there? I've gotta leave a signature and fingerprints just to buy sudafed, but they're putting 8 year olds on amphetamines for the illnesses they invented to sell more pills. Same people trying to outlaw vitamins, alternative cancer treatments, etc.

I have to beg for a bottle of antibiotics, but in my lifetime they've had no second thoughts about putting me on Zyprexa, Abilify, Benzetropine, Seroquel, Risperdal, Vyvanse, Strattera, Concerta, Lithium, Lamical, Effexor, Mirtazipine, Welbutrin, Trazadone, Clonazepam, Alprazolam, Lorazepam, Geodon, Celexa, Pristiq, I could keep going. Fuck doctors.

Well, that's what happens when doctors get a profit from prescribing I guess.

Over here, it's hard work to get them to prescribe you anything, which isn't entirely a bad thing.

OP, how old are you and what the fuck is wrong with you to need all those meds? And why do you need antibiotics?

used to live in so cal so i would take the train/trolley down to mexico all the time to stock up on WHATEVR. 911 hit and things changed. used to be able to buy oxys, bottles of codeine, steroirds, bottles of special k, everything now it is more scarce.

you can still buy things like antibiotics etc but you gotta be SO careful with that shit. you are messing with your immune system. some of these places actually produce these meds themselves, use their own pill press machines etc.

bottom line: unless it is in a sealed bottle with the manufactured name of a reputable brand or reputable generic i would not purchase. this is the 30+ year old father speaking and not the 18yo looking to get fucked up :0

Old enough to have been smoking for 17 years (sorry, not getting it out of me) and I've been put on all those because they used to think i was schitzophrenic(sp?) but now they think its just bad bipolar disorder.
