i get a call today from the marines. he is trying to recruit me. i tell him straight up i have no interest in the marines, and that my goal is to start my own business. he then goes on to elaborate on how the marines would be crucial to me being a successful business owner. i tell him im still not interested. he then tells me that 40% of fortune 500 ceo's are ex-marines. i tell him to name me one, and he says john schnatter (papa john). a quick google search shows that that is false. he then goes through all these personal and health questions to tell me that i am exlusivly qualified. wow! i feel so honored. this dude wasted 15 minutes of my time after i expressly said i was not interested. i would have hung-up, but would have felt bad.

this is your tax money paying for him to be doing this.

The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excsises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defense and general Welfare of the United States

I don't understand how you think military recruitment is a waste of tax dollars, it actually seems like one of the few justifiable tax expenditures I can think of.

"This call is being recorded for QC right? Great, it's being recorded on my end too - please take me off your caller list, and have a nice day" Wait for confirmation and hang up.

You felt bad? lol. You're a marketer are you not?

Anytime you a recruiter comes up to you, just tell them you have asthma. That immediately excludes you from eligibility.

You should have told him you're a member of this forum. He would realize you were gay and hung up the phone.

i convert around 5-10% of people who tell me they're not interested. They just don't know their interested yet. ;]

You are lucky that you only got a phone call. There was one that would show up at my home and places of work when I was younger.

One of your friends or family probably gave him your phone number. They would always try to get new leads from me back then.

It's either that or conscription. Methinks the former is better.

What you should have done is squeezed out some contact information from Mr. Marine and told him about some magical berries that you could hook the Marines up with that would increase their muscle tone, and help them lose some fat.

Opportunity Lost = You Fail

Whenever I get any calls from military recruitment I answer the phone like a flaming fag. The calls never last longer than 10 seconds and some of the reactions I get are priceless.
