Is it easy for an outsourcer to attach some keystroke logger/virus/GoToMyPc software when they ship us the Landing Page files/word or excel docs?

I know downloading .exe files are risky but do we take on risk when downloading the LP files? Is checking the files with anti-virus enough?

Basically any file we download like Word/Excel from an email can that easily have malicious software on it.

I want to outsource more task but am a bit paranoid with downloading files. I have no idea how attaching viruses work so wanted to see what you guys think.

Everyone is concerned about protecting P202 Log in info, thought this might be something else to look into.

if you're paranoid about that just install a strict firewall (ie ESET) that allows you to approve all outgoing connections. if some trojan process tries to access a remote port, you can deny it. you can do the same for processes by installing process (ie Scotty) watchdog software that allows you to deny/approve new processes from running.
