I recently saw a crappy old picture that was highly rated: "Purple Rain" with Prince. The script and acting were so unbearably amateurish, I stopped watching and started web surfing halfway through.

Why was Prince, who now calls himself The Artist, the romantic lead? That guy is such a peter puffer. :moon:

What films did you expect to love but instead hated?

2012. the little boy was always like "daddy i want to go with you!" he shoulda slapped the kid there. instead of going and saving the world hes giving his son a fucking lecture. also i can take the last second kinda thing a few times a movie, but not every 3 minutes

I had such high fucking hopes...

It was more normal at the time for male MTV sex symbols to wear makeup and feminine clothes. He went back to the Prince name about ten years ago.

Purple Rain, Footloose, and Flashdance all came out around the same time with budgets under $10 million and made back 10 times as much. Take the music away from any of them and the success would not have been there. Purple Rain might be better looked at as an extended video for Prince's album than as a drama to compare with Citizen Kane.

2nded for the hangover - a horrible rip off of dude where's my car.
paranormal activity - still haven't seen it but i already know its an overhyped piece of shit.

blair witch project - wtf everyone hates that movie but when it came out everyone loved the crap out of it and everyone called me crazy for not liking it. Now they all trash it and pretend they never liked it.

transformers 1&2 - gay

tmnt - i love ninja turtles. this movie was a disgrace. wtf was up with the camera work. You never saw a full ninja turtle in the movie. it was always way zoomed out so they were just a dot or super mega zoomed in so all you saw was a small portion of their face and mouths when they talked. No humor like the others.

indiana jones - old ones were great. The new one was boring as hell.

paul blart mall cop - wasn't funny

Funny people - not as advertised. Everyone thought it was going to be a comedy.

Most Underrated Movies

Berserk - badass anime. Even if you don't like anime watch this..trust me

Tenth Kingdom - The only 9 hour movie i've ever watched that kept me laughing the entire time. Plus it was just cool.

Hoodwinked - Funniest cartoon ever and it never gets any credit for it.

Idiocracy - my all time favorite movie. Everyone i've talked to that didn't like it only didn't like it because it was so true its scary. Which I can totally understand. I've still seen it a dozen times and it gets funnier each time super troopers style.

Fired Up - The preview made it look like a crappy national lampoons young boys go on an adventure for some poon dime a dozen american pie 50 type movie but it was actually hilarious. Most quotable movie ever.

Band of brothers - I enjoy war movies but not long ones. This one was like 11 fuckin hours but it held my attention the entire time and was totally badass. I've watched it about 5 times now and I'm yet to ever watch it in pieces. I have to preplan my entire day around it.

John Carpenters Vampires - I instantly hate all vampire movies the moment they get to the part where they change all the vampire rules to fit their storyline. They already know all the rules but they make sure to clarify which ones don't apply and say nah thats just a myth. Yet every single one does it. wtf really? is it really impossible to make a good vampire movie while keeping true to what a vampire is? Sorry lol drives me up the wall. This is the only vampire movie besides Interview With A Vampire that I like. It keeps true to all the rules and its totally badass and action packed without the cheesy heroic characters like Blade, underworld, van helsing, queen of the damned and twilight.

agree with Imageandwords' list.. i don't understand what's so great about Quentin Tarantino's movies like Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction.. urgh.. there were some funny moments in Inglorious Basterds but the whole thing is just weird...
