Overstock Penalized by Google for Incentivized EDU Links

I agree it's shitty. But just think if you're the SEO for one of Overstock's main competitors... if they're off the 1st page that's $Millions in additional revenue for your company and probably a very fat bonus for you as well. Hard to pass up that opportunity probably.

Hey it must be February, about 8 weeks past shopping season, and G's messing with algo, slapping down the usual suspects.

And just before summer break, let's say June, they'll do another algo update and this time, THIS TIME, they'll put the blackhats away for good.

The longer you work in this business, the more Google looks like it's the corporate version of Bill Murray in Groundhog day.

Sure seems like there are a lot of other obvious sites that should be penalized but Google turns a blind eye to it.

So if you rank for generic keywords, is this the way it's going to be now?! Algorithm beaten, followed by the actions of some fucking rat?!

Was reading an article on Matt Cutts blog about reporting sites from within your account and it just sounds like a real shitty move by Google. I read through the comments and some douche (Anthony Cea) was drawing attention to WickedFire's Drip Feed page and another one above it. Have never used automation myself, but people like him and fuckbags like Jill Whalen are everywhere and all of that data sent to Google is not ignored these days (not now that questions have been asked regarding their search quality). I really do hope that Bing can even the field out, because having reliance on Google is just not wise these days.
