I know JenSense mentioned last month that Yahoo planned to stop supporting the keyword tool but it looks like it may have come true. I know it has always been sluggish or down for short periods of time but it's been down all day.

You can also use the Google tool.

Yes, I realize the adcenter tool is an option but MSN only makes up about 8% of all searches.

And Google's Tool doesn't break down any specific monthly numbers, just a basic bar graph.

Yahoo's new search medium "Panama" is not currently equipped with the keyword tool. It's quite possible that they are currently in some type of a transition period and that the new search medium will soon be equipped with the keyword tool. If this isn't the case and the Overture keyword tool is kicked to the curb then we will have to subscribe to Wordtracker in order to get a tool like that with the kind of volume that Yahoo has. It's also possible that Google will make an addition to their tool by giving us the actual number of searches that a given keyword will get in a specified period of time. MSN's tool with only 8% still has a significant enough volume to capture any industry trends, new niches, etc.

Can anyone check if https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal still works for them? when I try to retrieve the cost& ad position estimates it doesn't show any $ amount or ad position any more.

Yeah, it doesn't work for me either. I noticed this yesterday as well. I emailed Adwords support about it because I wasn't sure if was me or not. Haven't heard back yet but I'll post when they do.

I hope this is just downtime for both resources because I don't understand their logic.
