We had 2 boys in 2 years, and I can vouch that the most TERRIFYING part of having a baby is opening that fucking bill.
I paid, at the time, $800/month for insurance as I was self employed. I had to meet a $2000 deductible, pay 25% of the amount over $2000, and STILL got hit with a $14K bill. (C-section + Baby ICU)
I was so beyond pissed that I called the CFO of the hospital and told her that she'd either take $3000 or nothing. I'd blog about it all the way through the court proceedings if she didn't cooperate. The next day I got a fax that said she'd take the $3000.
Medical billing is the biggest legal racket ever.
Turbo, my advice would be to tell them your name is Juanita Gomez, and you're an illegal alien from Cancun, Mexico.
Once you have the child and they deport your ass, just have your husband FedEx your driver's license down to Cancun and walk back up when you're vacationed out!

lol at the 6 scary things about childbirth. I have an awesome doctor who believes in pain medication the second you get there, so between that, the fact that I've done this before, and the fact that I can't ever see what's going on down there...it's not so scary.
As for the bill, my husband's insurance with his job pays 100%
