Paralysis by over-analysis is killing me right now. I sit around all day thinking about what to do... and I never get around to doing it. This journal is to hold me accountable for getting shit done.

Day 1 Goals
-Make 4 landing pages for a dating offer
-Set up a lp rotator using CTRtard's awesome guide
-Launch the campaign with DirectCPV

I'll post back later tonight. Wish me luck! :jester:

I really dont think DPCV is the best network to start with . If I was new and had limited funds I would start with Adon . Adon has better traffic than DPCV , however not as much , it is better / easier to learn from . Just my .02

Shit. Just deposited 100 bones into DirectCPV. If nothing converts, I'll switch on over to Adon.

Thanks for the heads up.

No worries , Some niches do well @ DPCV ( Dating ) , but i never had any sucess with any others . But it could be me - Good luck

Looks good, I got the same prob too. Sit around and do piss all. I'm doing the SEO way and building a niche site or two. Plan to move onto PPC and CPV eventually, probably by entering FB firsts. But Im gettign ahead of myself :P /rant

Anyways, goodluck and hope you don't forget to update!

we should start making betting pools on what post number in a thread will be the "alright, so I've decided to switch gears to this new plan, but it's gonna be supa shweet awesome def gonna make moniez"

Fook. Set up everything nice and pretty to just to find out that the offer I am running is not reporting any clicks or impressions. :angryfire: Gonna have to bug my AM tomorrow to fix it.

On the bright side, I came up with some fun landing pages to begin split testing with.

POF Style - makedasite.com/singlesnetone
Big Button - makedasite.com/singlesnettwo
OmNomNom - makedasite.com/singlesnetthree
Slightly Sexist - makedasite.com/singlesnetfour

Q & A
@herbs - appreciate the kind words man!
@bompa - porn and bloons are my only online passions. Unfortunately, they don't convet too well. ;)
@Garret - Hmmm... LeadImpact or TrafficVance?
@dchuk - Gotta believe in me, bro.

Launched the campaign! I found about 80 good URLs with GoogleAdPlanner. I weeded out the expensive ones and bid for the bottom position in the rest. If I'm not getting enough traffic - I'll up the bids.

Reload the website a couple times to see all of the Lp's.

Time for me to go to chilltown.
I'll post an update tomorrow about how the campaign is going.

I know this is going to end not so well but good on ya for keeping with it, trying different lp styles, and getting your feet wet

do you think people will serious want to find love online after reaching your landing page? you might want to spend a bit more time on convincing people through your landing page or don't use one at all. landing pages are for presells/upsells (meaning giving the user that extra "reason" to signup for your product) and if people are confused or say "WTF" then nothing will convert - your LPs aren't very convincing and I think you will see that in your results

also, are you targeting urls in DCPV? are you gearing your campaign towards URLs women visit (I noticed you had pix of guys)? I would suggest checking the demographic audience data from alexa on the target URLs you are bidding on.. if they don't match your demographic, it's not gonna convert

you might want to mess around with offers and niches that aren't extremely competitive already.. often times you can find target URLs that no one is bidding on (in a small or new niche) that you can take up all the traffic at the minimum bid.

good luck br0

also, plz plz plz add border=0 to those images my eyes are burning from seeing that blue line

^^^^
I owe you one sgtryan. Excellent info for me to wrap my mind around.

As for the offer - I switched it up to gender neutral. I'm targeting URLs that attract the type of demographics that should be interested in the offer - old and rich folk.

My thoughts are for me to make a campaign in different verticals every day or two. Throw shit against a wall and see what sticks.

Anyways - keep on imparting knowledge on me sensei. I appreciate it. :food-smiley-010:
Also - anyone have an AIM for a DirectCPV rep? Can't seem to get a hold of mine to approve my campaigns.

530 Views. 16 Clicks. 0 Conversions.

Son. Of. A. Bitch.

Time for me to spend some time crafting quality landing pages. I'll post back later when I've whipped up the second batch.

PPV is a total bitch, man, at least on MT and DCPV. I tried a number of campaigns without any success to speak of. It left me wondering if these networks of poor saps with bullshit toolbars were milked dry before I got there. You know you're only going to enter your email address a couple of times for that "free" target gift card before you get wise and never do it again. Same with zip submits. Same with pretty much every short form. It all depends on the rate at which MT and DCPV can get people to keep installing the shit. Fresh suckers is their bread and butter, and I have no clue about the rate at which they can add new chumps to their networks.

Of course, I could be completely wrong, and maybe there are a lot of people out there making bank with MT and DCPV, but I've had a hell of a time.

@Minderwinter: Did you throw in the towel on PPV completely or did you just switch to another network? How about LeadImpact, why are they better in comparison to MT/DCPV (especially with all the Zango drama in the past)?

@sgtryan: You mention to check the demographics for every target URL one is targeting. You're probably not doing this manually for hundreds of URL's are you?

@Pancake: try lpdesigner.com, they are cheap and look good, though I haven't tested them yet :)

I'm still have account balances at both MT and DCPV, so the battle is not over. Right now I'm concentrating on offers that have good potential with SEO and AdWords. I figure if there's no way around doing landing pages (that's why I got into PPV in the first place, the possibility of direct linking), I might as well build a goddamn site that I can optimize and rank.

I really wanted to make this shit work through direct linking, but it turns out there ain't no such thing as a free lunch (TANSTAFL, as Heinlein would say).

Minderwinter -

You don’t have to build a LP to get PPV to work . I have plenty of DL campaigns that work , It really depends on the offer . I really hate MT and DCPV . I will give you an example , I have an INTL campaign that is the same on both networks , For LI I have over 100 % ROI , For MT it is about ( 25 % ) . If you got the money TV is hands down the best , However they do lack INTL traffic and some niche is ultra competitive . LI – has a good mix and it converts well , I really like them for INTL offers , Adon is good also and cheap , however they lack traffic . Keep testing and when you find something that works , rinse and repeat and try to scale it .
