Hey so here is the situation, I am on the team of a paid development tool. Our shit is getting torrented to fuck and we are losing some serious money.

Since our shit is already getting jacked right and left, We plan on releasing our tool on a ton of torrent sites and seeding the shit outa it, with one lil catch. We wanna fuck with the people who steal it.

If you could toss some php, js, w/e on someone else's site and run the script. What would it do. I'm fishing for ideas.

I like the standard, toss mad backlinks to some of our sites, but I want to add some more layers of cruelty. Like making them rank for kiddie porn.

I know we got some sick people on here so lets hear some ideas.

Your revenge is simple. Redirect them to makemoniesonline.com over and over.

Iframe to your site, get the http_ref, popup a fake "Site.com is under investigation" message with Chris Hansen on it.

Yea the tool is web based. Basically it is a custom website publishing utility like wordpress but more for ecommerce. We could dominate their entire site.

make a script that you can control to add code to their site at will. They'll never know (unless you make it obvious) and you can use it for many advantages.

Include a simple function on header, check if it's bot then 301 to any ('linhere'). If your functions file has tons of lines, noones going to check it.

Edit: on second thought, people who use torrented codes are either broke or they testing it first. Either way, you won't gain much from fucking over these kinds of ppl as their sites won't have much traffic anyway. Spend your time on something else.

Try getting over it. Software getting torrented is going to happen no matter what.

Though the redirect to makemoniesonline.com would be hilarious.

Next time do something to help prevent your tools from ending up free online. Require a unique license key for it to run.

@all Suprised that there aren't more insane ideas... C'mon WF don't let me down.

@matt, yea that just adds bloat. Torrent shit will happen regardless.

I just want to atleast have some fun.

Make sure when you seed it, put "nulled" in the title.

Also, hide your code in a gif file.

So you're losing money from your software being stolen, so instead of making it harder to steal, adding incentives to buy it, or releasing new features, you have decided to lose even more money by announcing that you will be trashing your reputation by leaking fucked up stuff, pretending you're not the one doing it.

Good idea.

Not.

1 - Write a script that records the ip's for first few days (that should give you the ip's of the guys who stole your stuff, right? Well, more or less)

2 - Let those ip's see the correct site and send everyone else to the meatspin.

Make it so randomly it replaces their links with your aff links. Profit from their theft!
