Anybody wanting to replace Paypal with Stripe, but putting it off because it's not as "plug-n-play" as Paypal is - check out Spacebox. From their overview:

Space Box makes accepting payments with the Stripe platform quick and easy. One of the big benefits is that there is no coding necessary to start accepting payments. Space Box enables you to set up payment forms super fast. You can then use the forms to accept payments from clients, accept donations, etc. Space Box also automatically sends receipt emails to anyone who makes a payment to you. It’s a great way to move off PayPal and onto Stripe for those who don’t want to (or don’t know how to) write a custom payment form using Stripe’s API.
If you're not familiar with Stripe - it allows you to accept payments without a merchant account or gateway. Stripe handles everything, including storing cards, subscriptions, and direct payouts to your bank account.
2.9% + 30 cents per successful charge. No setup fees, no monthly fees, no card storage fees, no hidden costs: you only get charged when you earn money. Earnings are transferred to your bank account on a 7 day rolling basis.

Anybody tried this shit yet?

That's cool, I just implemented Stripe on a site today. If you can follow a tutorial you can implement Stripe.

stripe is so fucking great, I hate paypal with a passion and will never use it for another product again

This. I don't even have a PayPal account anymore. Such a shitty service.

IMO they only rose to popularity because at the time the only other alternative was CCNow (massive lolz), and then ebay picked them up and made them standard for transactions.

You know, I could clone this in 5-10 hours, depending on how much worse my headache gets.

Probably won't, but fuck it'd be easy. I've wanted to build a proper invoicing service for years, guess I could build it on the back of a clone.

Just started using stripe for a zen cart store and a membership site. Their interface is simple and clean and I love the fact that there is no monthly fees.

Also,

What a great way to attach yourself to another successful company. Ideas like this make you realize that there are no excuses for being broke or crying about your SEO sites.

Its not available for us in Asia yet. I hope they roll out soon. One question for those who are using it, is this affecting your sales/processing in good or bad way?

I haven't been using it long enough to tell you. I'm assuming you mean, is the lack of a paypal logo decreasing conversion rates?

The only negative I've heard about them is that when a customer uses Amex, for the first 24-72hours the charge shows up on their card as "Stripe" instead of your company's name.

I absolutely hate Paypal. I've never had any problems with my account, but they go out of their way to make being a merchant as painful as possible.
