Payout cuts w/ NO warning?

As most people already know (hopefully, for your sake) Advaliant cut the payouts yesterday on Gov. Funded Grants and a few other Just Think Media offers by nearly $10. I've been told that they mistakenly missed me and notified most pubs via IM and email.

The part that gets me is that I sent 100+ sales to them and then discovered that I'm sitting borderline profitable because of this mysterious payout cut. It essentially cost me $1000 and has left a pretty sour taste in my mouth about the network along with Just Think Media's offers.

If this was a legitimate mistake I'd probably feel a whole lot better and what better way than to ask fellow WF'ers -- so what's up, you get burned to?
 


I have not run traffic for Grants in over a month and Geoff sent me an email letting me know. I've always had top notch communication at Advaliant (even when mine sucks).
 
Sorry to hear that man. I'd talk to Advaliant they should work something out with you if you were sending a bunch of volume.
 
It happens, especially when you promote second rate advertisers with tight budgets.
 
I didn't get any notice on these either and I'm NOT pleased. Other networks will now get this traffic- those who tell me before slashing payouts.
 
This stuff seems to happen a lot across all the networks. I've had offers turned off on me without any notification. It sucks.
 
yeah they definitely did not inform all of their publishers. it was posted in the news in their site but who reads that? Most affiliates found out from friends or they just logged into Advaliant and saw that their profits were gone. very lame.


I've noticed that Convert2Media sends out emails anytime anything changes, with an explanation of what is going on and advice on what to do to replace it. They're not scared to let you know that 'hey sorry bro but this offer is screwed.' In my opinion that is how you handle shit like this, you know, like you give a shit about your affiliates.

Just as a follow up on my original post, Geoff has cleared all of this up and has proved that's he a stand up guy who definitely gives a shit about his affiliates. Seems like it was an honest error and most people doing any sort of volume did in fact find out about the cuts.
