Anyway I had the honor of sending a couple of questions to the PayPerPost CEO Ted Murphy. The questions were pretty simple and straightforward and he answered em last month I think (but I remembered an hour ago). So I dug up that E-Mail and edited the interview. The original interview can be found here, but if you're too lazy to click the link here are the questions and answers:
Hopefully it was a decent interview and would bring in some new bloggers to PayPerPost!modernseo said:
- Do you expect that the PayPerPost (PPP) idea will be used by other Ad Revenue programs like Google AdSense, since they have a good amount of bloggers?
I expect that other companies will attempt to implement the PayPerPost model. However, I think that Google and Overture will be among the last to do so.- When exactly was PayPerPost officially released to the public?
Friday, June 30th, 2006- A good amount of forum members are complaining that PayPerPost isn't open outside the U.S. When do you expect PayPerPost to be available outside the U.S.?
PPP is now available outside the US but is still limited to English language blogs.- Is PayPerPost available to blogs running on a free sub-domain service like Blogger (http://www.blogger.com) or 66 Blogs ( http://www.66blogs.com/)?
PPP is available to bloggers using most services except those that exist primarily for generating income like Blogcharm.- Do you plan to change the current method for publishers to wait 30 days before getting their earnings? Maybe establish a trust relationship with publishers if they are frequent users, since I never take down the blog posts I put up for PayPerPost!
There are no plans to change the 30 day payout policy.- Do you have any plans to partner with other companies?
We don't have any plans at the moment, but we have been approach by a few potential partners.- Since I don't have a PayPerPost Advertiser Account yet, how would advertisers pay on their end?
- Advertisers deposit money into a bank with a credit card or through PayPal.
- They set a total budget for each opportunity based on the amount of opportunities they want to offer.
- Fees are reserved upon creation of the opportunity and permanently deducted after each blogger is paid.
- A lot of users refer to PayPal as "GayPal" since they have had horrible experiences with PayPal in the past. Others simply don't have a PayPal Account due to the unavailability in their country. Do you plan to offer checks to those who don't have a PayPal Account at the moment?
We do not plan on offering checks as it would make the process too expensive.- Will you think of offering a few other posting services like for forums/boards (meaning a user can signup to make 50 posts on a forum - maximum of 5 per day) and earn money from that? Forum owners would definitely be interested in those kind of services!
Forums are definitely target medium for the future.Where is- PayPerPost situated at the moment?
We are currently located in Orlando, Florida.- Do you have any other plans for the future for your company?
We are thinking BIG. We want to own this marketplace and believe we have the resources to do so. Look for some large announcements next week.
