I need to buy a compact PC.

It should have at least core 2 duo 1.8 to 2.2 GHz, 2-3 GB Ram and 100 GB +

Windows XP preferably
The size should be comparable to Max Mini. Slightly bigger is OK, but you get the drift.

I looked at Lenovo Ideacenter Q150 but it uses ATOM.
Not sure if it is good for day to day activity.. This is mostly Bot work and other stuff that I cannot do on Mac.

Any suggestions?

Why not just use an Intel Mini with Boot Camp and run it that way when you need Windows? I own one, and XP runs great. VirtualPC is another possibility, but I prefer that the OS run native.

It's gonna be hard to get something like a core2 duo on anything smaller than a Micro-ATX board. You'll have power issues, cooling issues and not much room for anything else.

If you're OK with the larger PSUs, check out motherboards/socket 1156 mini-itx:

This is the mini-itx board I bought, I installed a Core2Quad, 4GB RAM on it. Works fine and looks great in my Raidmax Mini-Itx case. I use it as a media center PC but its more than capable of running anything you throw at it. Not quite as small as a mac mini but still fits on a shelf.

I have two Macbooks (i white, 1 pro) already, and I run bootcamp on one. I just want to buy a Windows PC too that I can easily pack and carry. I move quite often and need something I can carry.. I can discard the monitor whenever I love. I just felt that the Mac mini is smaller than a Laptop and I can carry it in my luggage.

The dell inspiron Zino looks good. only it is a hmm.... AMD.. I am looking at Cheshire's build

So Cheshire... I order the case, order CPUs, RAM and a HDD? What else do you usually order in a Build... last time I had an assembled PC was in in 1997 lol...

I could read up.. but not sure what I need to buy..

Is that case as small as a Mac Mini?

so you want something as small as a mac mini, build quality of a mac mini, as powerful as a mac mini, that costs the same as a mac mini...but with windows on it?

Why is this thread still going? just buy a mac mini and install windows

No the case isn't nearly as small as a Mac mini's. There are some smaller cases out there though. For a computer build you need a Case, Motherboard, CPU, RAM, Hard Drive, and optical drive. That Zotac has Nvidia graphics, Ethernet, and Wifi on board.
